ROUNDUP: Desert Oasis rallies past Durango in softball

Holly O’Hara’s single to left-center with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Monday scored Emily Heinz with the winning run as the Desert Oasis softball team rallied from a 7-2 fourth-inning deficit to hand visiting Durango its first Southwest League loss, 8-7.

The Diamondbacks scored once in the fourth inning and once in the fifth, then pulled to within 7-6 on Briona Santovito’s two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning.

Brooke Kutz reached on an error with one out in the seventh inning and was lifted for pinch runner Cheree Austin.

Heinz followed with a single to put runners at the corners, then stole second base. Andrea McIntosh’s fifth hit of the game scored

Austin and moved Heinz to third before O’Hara lined a 3-2 pitch into the gap in left-center.

McIntosh was 5-for-5 with a double, a run and an RBI. Heinz was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs.

Nicole Schultz was 4-for-4 with two runs for the Trailblazers. Nicole Herrera was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs.

Clark 6, Bonanza 5 — At Bonanza, the host Bengals committed two errors in the sixth inning that led to a pair of runs as the Chargers rallied for the win.

Shannon Chapman was 2-for-3 with a double for Clark.

Bonanza’s Alex Teed belted a two-run home run. Sam Snyder was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Pahrump Valley 15, Bishop Gorman 2 — At Majestic Park, Becca Gamble went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs, and she also pitched a four-hitter to lead the Trojans past the Gaels.

Pahrump Valley erased an early 1-0 deficit with three runs in the third and put the game away with 10 runs in the seventh.

Spring Valley 10, Sierra Vista 9 — At Spring Valley, Sara Stowers’ walk-off single in the eighth inning lifted the Grizzlies over the Mountain Lions.

Sierra Vista took a 9-7 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Grizzlies scored twice to force the extra inning.

Nicole Matyskiel had 10 strikeouts and a home run for the Grizzlies.

Ashley Krumme and Katie Campo each hit homers for the Mountain Lions, who scored 10 runs off 15 hits.

Desert Pines 9, Chaparral 8 — At Desert Pines, Megan Robbins went 3-for-4, including a game-winning single down the left-field line with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, to help the Jaguars edge the Cowgirls.

Robbins also tripled and was the winning pitcher.

Roxanne Pipitone was 3-for-5 for Chaparral, which rallied from a 7-1 third-inning deficit to tie the game in the sixth inning.

Eldorado 14, Rancho 4 — At Eldorado, Ashley Jarzombek went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and tossed a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead the Sundevils past the Rams in six innings.

The Rams’ Amber Marlette hit a home run.

Lake Mead 15-16, Beatty 3-0 — At Beatty, the Eagles outhit the host Hornets 20-5 on the day to sweep a pair of five-inning games.

Lake Mead pitcher Lynzee Freund struck out seven in a three-hitter in the opener. Sam Herman hit a three-run home run in the third inning.

Freund fired a two-hitter in the second game, which saw the Eagles take a 14-0 lead into the fourth.

Kailyn Poteat was 3-for-3 with a double for the Eagles.
