ROUNDUP: Jordan’s two-out heroics lead Mustangs past Spartans

Mary Jordan’s two-out double in the bottom of the eighth inning Friday plated Krislyn Campos with the winning run as Shadow Ridge rallied from a 7-0 fifth-inning deficit to top visiting Cimarron-Memorial.

Campos, who was 4-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, singled to start the eighth-inning rally.

Cimarron plated two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 9-8 lead, but Shadow Ridge rallied to tie it on an RBI single by Casey Velarde in the bottom of the inning.

Danielle Buecker was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Carla Serrano belted a solo home run for Shadow Ridge.

Cimarron’s Hannah Williams was 4-for-5 with two runs, and Carrie Sheehan went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a run for the Spartans.

Legacy 7, Centennial 3 — At Centennial, the Longhorns took advantage of five errors to score three unearned runs en route to the win.

Katrina Rand hit 3-for-4 to lead Legacy.

Palo Verde 11, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Faith Lutheran, Erika Stratton’s two-run homer highlighted a four-run first inning as the Panthers cruised past the Crusaders.

Rachel Mez went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Palo Verde, and Stratton finished 2-for-4.

Caitlin Crosby was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran. Brittany Hampton had two hits and two runs, and Rachel Kerr added two hits.

Cheyenne 28, Mojave 6 — At Cheyenne, Nina Manley went 5-for-5 with two RBIs and five runs to lead the Desert Shields in a five-inning rout of the Rattlers.

Bailey Benson was 3-for-6 with five RBIs for Cheyenne.

Jamie Schaefer and Lindsey Galindo each had two hits and three RBIs for the Desert Shields, and Melanie Manley added two hits and two RBIs.

Bonanza 6, Pahrump Valley 4 — At Bonanza, Nicolette Lind was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs as the Bengals took a 6-0 third-inning lead and held off Pahrump.

Tori Lind hit 2-for-2 with an RBI, and Taylor Gordy went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Bonanza, which pounded out 16 hits.

Taylor Raymer was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Miranda Monje finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Trojans.

Clark 10, Spring Valley 4 — At Clark, Shannon Chapman went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and the Chargers used a seven-run second inning to down Spring Valley.

Anna Jaehn was 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs for Clark.

Sara Stowers was 3-for-4, and Georgi Delio went 2-for-3 with a double for the Grizzlies.

Durango 18, Sierra Vista 1 — At Durango, Katie Moore finished 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and four RBIs, and winning pitcher Taylor Short added a two-run blast as the Trailblazers routed Sierra Vista in five innings.

Mindy Larson was 3-for-3 with two doubles for Durango. Marley Sandoval went 2-for-2 with two doubles, and Sam Juarez was 2-for-2 with a double for the Trailblazers.

Desert Oasis 12, Western 0 — At Desert Osais, Andrea McIntosh went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Briona Santovito was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run to lead the Diamondbacks past the Warriors.

Morgan Hughes doubled and drove in a run for Desert Oasis.

Liberty 1, Tech 0 — At Liberty, Francesca Foti tossed a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks to help the Patriots edge the Roadrunners.

Liberty scored the only run in the third inning when Megan Patras’ two-out single plated Cassandra English.

Rhiannon Beck went 2-for-3 for Liberty.

Tech pitcher Amanda Roark had eight strikeouts.

Foothill 9, Del Sol 0 — At Foothill, Cassandra Keven fired a three-hit shutout, striking out nine, to lift the Falcons past Del Sol.

Madison Pike went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Lauren Penksa was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Foothill. Lacresha Johnson went 1-for-1 with an RBI for the Falcons.

Green Valley 7, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, Lace Jordan hit 4-for-4 with a run scored, and Ali Bodnar was 3-for-5 with a run and four RBIs to lead Green Valley past the Skyhawks.

Carly Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run for the Gators.

Amanda Delgado was 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Ashley Phillips went 1-for-3 with a run for Silverado.

Basic 6, Coronado 3 — At Coronado, Marissa Ross was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Basic scored five runs in the third inning to down the Cougars.

Wolves’ pitcher Lacey Romo tossed a five-hitter and struck out 10.

Devyn Choltko had two hits for Coronado.

Las Vegas 1, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Jenice Gutierrez’s RBI triple in the third inning brought home Ashly Westgarth with the lone run as the Wildcats nipped the Aggies.

Monique Hernandez tossed a two-hitter and struck out five for Las Vegas.

Arbor View’s Marlene Panduro also spun a two-hitter and struck out one.

Boulder City 7-20, Virgin Valley 2-1 — At Mesquite, the Eagles used a 13-run second inning to finish off a sweep of the Bulldogs.

Dylan Scott earned the win in the opener, and Karlee Koopman picked up the win in the nightcap.

The Meadows 12-9, West Wendover 11-10 — At West Wendover, Jenna Palazzo drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of eighth inning to give the Mustangs the win in the first game.

West Wendover rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to win the nightcap.

The Meadows’ Robin Monkrash was 3-for-6 with six runs and three RBIs in the doubleheader.

Needles 12-7, White Pine 2-0 — At Needles, Calif., Dakota Lillard tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out eight in the nightcap as the Mustangs completed a sweep of White Pine.

Haley Laswell went 4-for-5 with three RBIs in the opener and 3-for-4 in the nightcap for Needles, and teammate Alex Chandler was 1-for-1 with a double and two RBIs in the first game and 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBIs in the second game.

Abby Chandler tossed a five-hitter and struck out 11 in the opener for the Mustangs.

Pahranagat Valley 9-1, Lake Mead 5-14 — At Alamo, Tami Spencer went 4-for-5 to lead the Panthers to the win in the opener before the Eagles took the nightcap behind two hits each from Amanda Wellman and Emma Khachikian.

Roxie Lasike was 5-for-6 in the two games for Pahranagat Valley.

Indian Springs 14-9, Tonapah 7-2 — At Indian Springs, Brandi Bryl recorded 13 strikeouts in the opener and notched 11 in the nightcap as the Thunderbirds swept Tonopah.

Bryl also hit a grand slam in the second game for Indian Springs.

Henderson International 21-17, Sandy Valley 0-2 — At Henderson International, Brittany Huff was a combined 5-for-5 with three triples and Lauren Mushkin hit 4-for-6 with two triples to lead the Wolverines to a sweep of the Sidewinders.

Hailey Schulz pitched a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts in the opener, and Natasha Chapman tossed a five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts in the second game.

Pamela Sakuma went 3-for-3 with six RBIs for the Wolverines in the nightcap.
