ROUNDUP: Longhorns’ Elia-Mendiola shocks Panthers with two-out single

Kiani Elia-Mendiola’s bases-loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday brought home pinch-runner Bianca Boyt with the winning run as Legacy’s softball team stunned visiting Palo Verde, 2-1.

The Longhorns trailed 1-0 heading to the bottom of the sixth, but Alexis Fuller drew a one-out walk and Alysia Santos followed with a single.

With two outs, Lindsey Fishman reached on a fielder’s choice with Fuller advancing to third on an error.

After a bases-loaded walk to Mariah Mendoza, Elia-Mendiola singled home the winning run.

Sierra Pico tossed a five-hitter for Legacy.

Breanna Beatty was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Panthers.

Silverado 6, Coronado 5 — At Silverado, Taylee Heckman went 2-for-3 with a home run and tossed a six-hitter with four strikeouts as the Skyhawks stunned the Cougars.

Kenna Turner was 3-for-4 with a double for Silverado.

Danielle Amato went 3-for-4 with a double and scored a run, and Lee Harrison homered for Coronado, which scored three runs in the top of the seventh.

Rancho 8, Chaparral 3 — At Rancho, Dazialyn Manuma went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, and Tessa Davilla was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored as the Rams defeated the Cowboys.

Aly Lamboo tossed a two-hitter with nine strikeouts for Rancho.

Eldorado 11, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Ashley Jarzombek tossed a six-inning four-hitter and struck out 13 as the Sundevils completed a perfect Northeast League season by routing the Miners.

Las Vegas 18, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Brooke Booth tossed a five-inning two-hitter and struck out 10 as the Wildcats rolled past the Jaguars.

Canyon Springs 23, Valley 6 — At Canyon Springs, Ciera Berkemeyer went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, and Angie Elusserre was 3-for-3 with two RBIs as the Pioneers blitzed the Vikings in five innings.

Alli Givens went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Dari Carter had two hits and two RBIs for Canyon Springs, which got two hits and an RBI from Jazmine Johnson.

Zoe Galindo tripled and drove in two runs for Valley.

Centennial 19, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Savannah Horvath went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBIs and Heather Bowen added a her school-record 16th home run, a double, four RBIs and a run scored as the Bulldogs routed the Desert Shields in five innings.

Madison Henzlik was 4-for-5 with a double and three runs, and Ashley Ross added three hits for Centennial, which got a homer from Lacie Chakos.

Megan Ingram went 2-for-3 with a double and Vanessa Sanders had two hits for Cheyenne.

Foothill 16, Liberty 4 — At Liberty, Hannah Stevens went 3-for-5 with three runs, and the Falcons scored eight runs in the top of the first inning on their way to a five-inning win over the Patriots.

Shadow Ridge 17, Mojave 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Justin Garganese and Kellie Gaura each went 2-for-3 with a home run as the Mustangs routed the Rattlers in five innings.

Dani Mastin and Danette Daguiar also hit home runs for Shadow Ridge.

Gaura tossed a four-hitter and struck out four.

Arbor View 16, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Ashlyn Ames tossed a six-inning five-hitter and homered to help the Aggies down the Crusaders.

Letty Valenzuela went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs for the Aggies.

Kelly Zufall was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran.

Green Valley 14, Tech 0 — At Green Valley, Maggie Manwarren went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs, and winning pitcher Fenixx Henderson had two hits and an RBI and combined with Megan

Barrera on the shutout as the Gators blanked the Roadrunners in five innings.

Anysa Calderon had two hits and an RBI for Green Valley.

Lake Mead 22-13, The Meadows 16-14 — At The Meadows, Amber Peterson’s two-run triple with no outs in the bottom of the seventh gave the Mustangs a split with the Eagles.

MeLettie Alexis went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three runs, and Nicole Lenardson was 3-for-4 with two runs in the second game for The Meadows.

In the first game, Lake Mead scored 12 runs in the bottom of the sixth to come from behind and beat the Mustangs.

Taylor Badua-Kono was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs for Lake Mead, which trailed 15-10 before the 12-run outburst.
