Roundup: MacKenzie Perry pitches Rancho past Palo Verde

MacKenzie Perry tossed a five-hitter and struck out 13 Thursday to lead Rancho’s softball team to a 6-1 home win over Palo Verde.

Kaitlyn Suarez went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored, Taya Freidrich went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, and Liliana Gutierrez went 2-for-3 with a RBI for the Rams, who scored four runs in the fifth inning.

Camden Zahn went 2-for-4 with a RBI for the Panthers.

Arbor View 6, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Arbor View, Irelyn Richards spun a three-hitter and struck out six to lead the Aggies by the Spartans.

Paige Kellogg was 1-for-3 with three RBIs, and Ashlyn Whipple and Kylie Sharapan each went 2-for-3 for Arbor View.

Reagan Wadsworth was 2-for-3 for Cimarron.

Valley 16, Western 6 — At Western, Lily Mader went 4-for-4 with two doubles, four runs and five RBIs to lead the Vikings to a five-inning win over the Warriors.

Heather Robinson was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Valley.

Alexis Cho was 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI, and Mia Perez was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Western.

Centennial 12, Las Vegas 0 — At Las Vegas, Abby Hanley retired the first 14 Wildcats hitters and settled for a five-inning one-hitter as the Bulldogs downed the Wildcats.

Hanley allowed only a two-out single to Midajah Chavira in the fifth inning.

Madeline Wade was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Tatum Huntly was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Centennial. Ryan Rogers and Ashlyn Heck each went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Legacy 15, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Madison Ruiz was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs to help the Longhorns to a five-inning win over the Sundevils.

Desiree Jefferson was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI for Legacy.

Destinee Jefferson tossed a one-hitter and struck out 11 for the Longhorns.

Shea Clements was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Caitlin Covington was 2-for-3 with three runs for Shadow Ridge.

Jasmine Martin tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts for the Mustangs.

Bonanza 19, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Brooke Detommaso tossed a three-inning perfect game with seven strikeouts and went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead the Bengals by the Pioneers.

Sara Riley was 3-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs, and Carla LaRosa went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Bonanza. Samantha DeMattia was 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs for the Bengals.

Cheyenne 17, Desert Pines 2 — At Cheyenne, Keyana Carbajal was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and four runs as the Desert Shields routed the Jaguars in four innings.

Myon Broadnax supplied a double, two RBIs and three runs for Cheyenne.

Alejandra Olan and Jocelyn Bailon each had an RBI single for Desert Pines.

Pahrump Valley JV 17, Indian Springs 3 — At Indian Springs, Noemi Maldonado tossed a four-hitter to lead the Trojans’ junior varsity by the Thunderbirds in six innings.

Mariea Torneskog was 1-for-3 with a solo home run for Indian Springs.

Pahrump Valley 23, Democracy Prep 2 — At Pahrump, Allyson Rily went 4-for-4 with three triples, a double and three RBIs as the Trojans routed the Blue Knights in three innings.

Deeanna Egan went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Trojans, who scored 12 times in the first inning.

Hannah Cuellar allowed two runs on two hits and struck out seven to pick up the win.

Mojave 16, Del Sol 7 — At Mojave, the Rattlers downed the Dragons.
