ROUNDUP: Medrano’s perfect game carries Foothill past Basic

Shelbie Medrano pitched a perfect game Monday to lift Foothill’s softball team to a 3-0 win over visiting Basic.

Medrano struck out 11, including the final batter of the game, en route to retiring all 21 Wolves’ hitters.

She also drove in the go-ahead run in the Falcons’ three-run sixth inning, doubling home Rosie Ritchie, who reached on a dropped fly ball.

Kylie Ishikawa and Maddie Wamsley each added an RBI single in the sixth.

Basic pitcher Lacey Romo struck out six and allowed just one hit — Amy Austin’s third-inning single — through the first five innings.

Durango 11, Western 0 — At Durango, Taylor Short tossed a five-inning no-hitter and struck out six as the Trailblazers routed the Warriors.

Durango’s Mindy Larson finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs and Jaexie Balilea was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs.

Clark 6, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, Anna Jaehn went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBIs to help the Chargers rally from an early 2-0 deficit and tame the Mountain Lions.

Jaehn’s homer in the fourth inning tied the game at 2-2. Clark went ahead with two runs in the sixth.

Shannon Chapman went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Chargers.

Ashley Krumme went 3-for-3 for Sierra Vista.

Desert Oasis 16, Spring Valley 3 — At Spring Valley, Nicole Liakos went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and seven RBIs, and the Diamondbacks did all of their scoring in the second and fourth innings on their way to the win.

Lenzi Cram went 1-for-2 with two runs for Desert Oasis, which scored seven runs in the second and nine in the fourth.

Jasmine Wilson went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the Grizzlies.

Bonanza 16, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Majestic Park, Emily Osborn went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and three runs, and the

Bengals plated six first-inning runs and never looked back en route to a five-inning win.

Nicolette Lind went 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs for Bonanza.

O’Sheyon Rollins went 2-for-3 with a run for the Gaels.

Coronado 18, Tech 2 — At Tech, Allie Amato went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and tossed a four-hitter to lead the Cougars past the Roadrunners.

Coronado’s Kim Dawson was 2-for-5 with five RBIs and Morgan Yuhas was 2-for-4 with five runs.

Tech’s Reyna Villanueva was 1-for-3 with a home run and Heaven Wright was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Green Valley 9, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Carly Aughney was 2-for-4 with a double and earned the win to help the Gators to a 9-0 road win over the Dragons.

Alicia Firelein was 2-for-4 with a home run.

Green Valley’s Kayla Anderson was 3-for-3 with a double and Joan Dungey was 2-for-4. 

Liberty 4, Silverado 0 — At Liberty, Robin Lowery allowed one hit in six innings to lead the Patriots over the Skyhawks.

Lowery struck out 12 and hit a triple.

Arbor View 2, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Tiffanee Anderson singled home Nichole Diaz with the go-ahead run in the sixth inning, and the Aggies escaped a seventh-inning jam to hold off the Desert Shields.

Diaz singled and took second on an error in the sixth before Anderson singled her home. Arbor View's Christi Callahan hit a pinch-hit homer in the fifth inning.

The Desert Shields put runners on first and second with no outs in the seventh inning, but Aggies reliever Amanda Jones retired the final three hitters to preserve the win.

Cheyenne’s Katelyn Barnum had two hits.

Cimarron-Memorial 1, Legacy 0 — At Cimarron, Jessica White’s leadoff home run in the fourth inning carried the Spartans over the Longhorns.

Legacy left nine batters on base, including stranding three runners in the third.

Losing pitcher Sierra Pico struck out seven and was 3-for-4.

Centennial 10, Mojave 0 — At Centennial, Katie Lee went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Bulldogs routed the Rattlers in five innings.

Centennial’s Kylie Bartlett, Shannon Brown and Camille Castro each went 2-for-3. One of Bartlett’s hits was a double.

Sierra Golia pitched a two-hitter for the win.

Shadow Ridge 12, Palo Verde 0 — At Palo Verde, Mandy Harmon struck out 10 batters in the Mustangs’ win over the host Panthers.

Shadow Ridge’s Rae-Ann Bohm was 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBIs.

Faith Lutheran 4, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Kellie Kersey tossed a seven-hitter as the Crusaders edged the Trojans.

Kersey was 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Faith Lutheran’s Amber Whatley was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Pahrump Valley’s Destini Codera was 2-for-3.
