ROUNDUP: Nelson, Finger point Centennial to victory in Tournament of Champions

Bailie Nelson’s bases-loaded single plated pinch-runner Alyssa Finger with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday as Centennial edged Taylorsville (Utah), 9-8 in the Tournament of Champions in Bullhead City, Ariz.
Savannah Horvath went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and two RBIs for Centennial, which got a pair of doubles from Lauren Stroman.
Centennial 14, Mohave (Ariz.) 0 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Taylor Huntly spun a four-inning no-hitter as the Bulldogs downed the host school in the Tournament of Champions.
Horvath went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double and four RBIs. Huntly, Horvath and Allison Riggs hit consecutive homers in the fourth inning.
Finger went 3-for-4 and homered for Centennial.
Centennial 9, Rio Rancho (N.M.) 5 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Stroman was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and the Bulldogs did all of their scoring in the final four innings to top Rio Rancho in the Tournament of Champions.
Lacie Chakos homered, and Huntly went 3-for-3 with a double for Centennial.
Coronado 11, Mingus (Ariz.) 4 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Katie Cochran’s three-run home run in the first inning provided a spark as the Cougars routed the Marauders in the Tournament of Champions.
Cochran was 2-for-2 with four RBIs, and Kiley Harrison went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Coronado.
Danielle Amato was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Cougars.
Coronado 8, Yucaipa (Calif.) 0 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Lee Harrison was 2-for-3 with a first-inning, three-run home run and four RBIs to help the Cougars top Yucaipa in the Tournament of Champions.
Haley Harrison was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Coronado.
Foothill 1, Yucaipa (Calif.) 0 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Aricia Dami’s one-out single in the bottom of the sixth inning plated Gabby Canibeyaz with the only run as the Falcons nipped Yucaipa in the Tournament of Champions.
Canibeyaz doubled earlier in the sixth inning.
Alex Petrolia spun a four-hitter for Foothill, striking out four.
Foothill 10, Mingus (Ariz.) 7 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Dami went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double to help the Falcons down the Marauders at the Tournament of Champions.
Chelsea Stewart added a double for Foothill.
Torey Gillies had a grand slam for Mingus.
Legacy 2, Barstow (Calif.) 1 — At Needles, Calif., Sierra Pico tossed a six-inning six-hitter and struck out five, and also smacked a pair of solo home runs to lead the Longhorns past Barstow in the Colorado River Invitational.
Yuma (Ariz.) 1, Legacy 0 — At Needles, Calif., Isabel Villalobos tossed a five-hit shutout, and the Criminals scored the lone run in the sixth inning to nip the Longhorns in the championship game of the Colorado River Invitational.
Allison Vega’s two-out RBI single in the sixth provided the margin of victory.
Kiana Elia-Mendiola went 2-for-3 for Legacy.
Apple Valley (Calif.) 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Needles, Calif., Makena Jefferson homered and tripled to lead Apple Valley past the Spartans in the Colorado River Invitational.
Apple Valley went 5-0 in the tournament, but didn’t play a semifinal or championship game due to game limits for California schools.
Cimarron was held to just two singles.
Yuma (Ariz.) 2, Tech 1 — At Needles, Calif., the Criminals scored unearned runs in the first and fifth innings and held off the Roadrunners in the Colorado River Invitational.
Amanda Roark tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven for Tech, which got two hits from Mikaela Tribett.
Faith Lutheran 17, Mountain View 5 — At Needles, Calif., Mandy Young went 2-for-2 and scored three runs to help the Crusaders rout the Saints in the Colorado River Invitational.
Faith Lutheran took control with a 12-run first inning.
Palo Verde 9, Snow Canyon (Utah) 3 — At St. George, Utah, Kelsea Sweeney went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs and tossed a five-inning five-hitter to push the Panthers past the Warriors in the March Warm-Up.
Breanna Beatty was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, and Angel Council and Melissa Lacro each went 2-for-3 for Palo Verde.
Knight (Calif.) 8, Palo Verde 3 — At St. George, Utah, Knight erased an early 3-0 deficit and posted a win over the Panthers in the title game of the March Warm-Up.
Rachel Williams went 2-for-3 for Palo Verde.
Boulder City 7, Viewmont (Utah) 1 — At St. George, Utah, Taylor McKeever went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a double to help the Eagles top the Vikings in five innings in the March Warm-Up.
Grantsville (Utah) 7, Boulder City 1 — At St. George, Utah, Shayla Bennett drove in the Eagles’ lone run in a loss to the Cowboys at the March Warm-Up.
Eldorado 9, Delta (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Utah, Ashley Jarzombek fired a three-hitter, and Eldorado did all of its scoring in the first three innings of a five-inning win over the Rabbits in the March Warm-Up.
Bishop Gorman 6, Delta (Utah) 4 — At St. George, Utah, Shelbie Estocado’s two-out, two-run double broke a 4-4 tie in the fourth inning and allowed the Gaels to hop past the Rabbits in a five-inning game in the March Warm-Up.
Estocado was 2-for-3 with a run and three RBIs for Gorman. Alexandria Gordon went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs and an RBI, and Miranda Robles was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored for the Gaels.
Mountain Crest (Utah) 7, Bishop Gorman 4 — At St. George, Utah, Mountain Crest erased an early 3-0 lead and downed the Gaels in the March Warm-Up.
Estocado was 2-for-2 with a run, and Machenzie Tucky went 1-for-2 with a three-run triple for Gorman.
Lincoln County 3, Arbor View 2 — At Mesquite, Chelsea Lloyd went 2-for-3, and the Lynx scored twice in the second inning and held on to top the Aggies in the championship game of the Sherm Bennett Memorial Classic.
Lincoln County carried a 3-1 lead into the seventh before Amber Raab’s one-out solo home run brought the Aggies within a run. The next Arbor View batter flied out to the fence in center field, and a ground out ended the game.
Enterprise (Utah) 17, Cheyenne 2 — At Mesquite, the Wolves did all of their scoring in the final three innings of a five-inning win over the Desert Shields in the Sherm Bennett Memorial Classic.
Cheyenne managed just three singles.
Indian Springs 13, Pahrump Valley JV 3 — At Alamo, Brandi Bryl tossed a three-hitter with eight strikeouts, and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and five RBIs to lead the Thunderbirds in an easy win over Pahrump Valley’s junior varsity at the Pahranagat Valley Invitational.
Bailee McCormick was 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Indian Springs.
Indian Springs 18, Pahranagat Valley 2 — At Alamo, Bryl finished 4-for-4 with a two-run homer and four RBIs to help the Thunderbirds rout the host Panthers in the Pahranagat Valley Invitational.
Heather Thormahlen went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles and three RBIs for Indian Springs, which got four RBIs from Courtnee Adin and three RBIs from McCormick.
Kyla Mortensen had a solo shot for Pahranagat Valley.
Laughlin 20, The Meadows 7 — At Laughlin, the Cougars completed a 4-0 run through their own tournament, securing first place in the Cougar Classic by downing the Mustangs.
Laughlin scored 75 runs in four games in the tournament.
