ROUNDUP: Nelson, Gutierrez help Wildcats clinch Northeast title

Kristina Nelson tossed a three-hitter with six strikeouts, and catcher Jenice Gutierrez went 3-for-5 as Las Vegas High’s softball team clinched the Northeast League crown Thursday with a 14-2, five-inning win at Desert Pines.
Megan Robbins was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored for the Jaguars.
Valley 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Mickayla Romero tossed a five-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead Valley past the Pioneers.
Autumn Williams went 2-for-3 with a double for the Vikings.
Zoe Galindo hit an RBI triple for Valley.
Rancho 13, Chaparral 9 — At Rancho, Amber Marlett went 2-for-4 with a double, and the Rams scored eight runs in the third inning to take a 10-2 lead before holding on to outlast the Cowboys.
Daisy Valenzuela also went 2-for-4 for Rancho.
Eldorado 17, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Lexi Christensen went 4-for-4, and Eldorado scored seven runs in the third inning and eight in the fourth to rout the Miners in five innings.
Kayla Nasife was 3-for-4 with a home run, and Gabriela Trillo went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Sundevils. Winning pitcher Ashley Jarzombek also homered.
Liberty 11, Foothill 5 — At Liberty, Megan Patras was 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and four RBIs as the Patriots built a 9-1 lead in the third inning and cruised to victory over the Falcons.
Breanna English went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBIs and two runs scored for Liberty.
Kylie Ishikawa was 2-for-3 with a run for Foothill.
Silverado 7, Coronado 3 — At Silverado, Ashley Phillips went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored to help the Skyhawks overcome a 3-0 fourth-inning deficit and rally past the Cougars.
Amanda Delgado and Riana Splinter each went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for Silverado.
Katie Cochran was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Coronado.
Basic 17, Del Sol 7 — At Del Sol, Adrian Brown went 3-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored as the Wolves cruised past the Dragons in five innings.
Alyssa Giorgi was 3-for-3, and Brooke Logan went 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs for Basic.
Del Sol’s Malina Berg went 3-for-3.
Virgin Valley 14, Faith Lutheran 4 — At Faith Lutheran, the Bulldogs scored five runs in the second inning and six in the third on their way to a five-inning win over the Crusaders.
Amanda Peterson went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Virgin Valley.
Maya Barnes hit a two-run homer in the first inning for Faith Lutheran.
