ROUNDUP: Nelson leads charge as Wildcats rally to edge Rams

Kristina Nelson scored the winning run on a passed ball with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday as Las Vegas High’s softball team nipped visiting Rancho, 3-2.

Rancho took a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth before the Wildcats rallied back.

Jasmina Salas led off the bottom of the ninth with a triple and scored on Nelson’s single.

Nelson was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Las Vegas.

Foothill 6, Silverado 5 — At Foothill, Gabby Canibeyaz hit an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Falcons past the Skyhawks.

Silverado was one out away from the win in the seventh before Foothill’s Rhiana Balaun tied the game at 5-5 with an RBI double.

Chelsi Stewart went 3-for-5 to help the Falcons.

Kaitlynn Crane was 2-for-4 to lead Silverado.

Spring Valley 7, Desert Oasis 5 — At Desert Oasis, Emma Lusthoff went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored as the Grizzlies held off the Diamondbacks.

Katie Campo was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI, and Ellie Endsley went 2-for-3 with a run for Spring Valley.

Audrey Blockovich was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI and Emily Heinz was 1-for-3 with a triple and a run for Desert Oasis.

Chaparral 10, Canyon Springs 0 — At Chaparral, Nicole Lesniak tossed a five-inning two-hitter with six strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI as the Cowboys blanked the Pioneers.

Rachel Psunis was 3-for-3, and Katie Brown went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Chaparral.

Bishop Gorman 11, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Dayton Yingling tossed a five-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs to help the Gaels cruise past the Bengals.

Shelby Estocado went 2-for-3 with a pair of triples, an RBI and two runs scored for Gorman.

Eldorado 13, Valley 3 — At Valley, Taylor Schroeder went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two runs and an RBI to help the Sundevils top the Vikings in six innings.

Ashley Jarzombek was 2-for-4 with a run for Eldorado.

Zoe Galindo went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run for Valley.

Green Valley 13, Liberty 3 — At Green Valley, Autumn Owens went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored as the Gators downed the Patriots.

Maggie Manwarren went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Green Valley.

Fenixx Henderson gave up just four hits while striking out nine batters for the Gators.

Clark 16, Sierra Vista 4 — At Clark, Shelby Frank finished 3-for-4 with a homer, four RBIs and two runs to help the Chargers roll the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Kaitlyn Szeles was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and an RBI, and Julianna Thornock went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for Clark.

Basic 16, Tech 2 — At Tech, Tiana Tapuala was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs and two RBIs to lead the Wolves past the Roadrunners in five innings.

Amanda Green homered and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for Basic.

Jordyn Roark and Amanda Roark each finished 2-for-3 for Tech. 

Durango 8, Western 0 — At Western, Mindy Larson and Cat Smith both went 2-for-4 as the Trailblazers routed the Warriors.

Cheyanne Haas and Dallas Boyce combined to hold the Warriors to two hits.

Coronado 17, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Aysha Sipe and Katie Dawson each went 3-for-4 with a triple, and Haley Harrison was 3-for-4 as the Cougars topped the Dragons in five innings.

Katie Cochran went 2-for-3 with a home run, and Kiley Harrison was 2-for-3 with a triple for Coronado.

Stephanie Keller went 2-for-2 for Del Sol.

Boulder City 6, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Boulder City, Karlee Koopman tossed a five-hitter and struck out six to lead the Eagles by the Trojans.

Kacey Ochoa provided a two-run double in the sixth inning for Boulder City.

Sunrise Mountain 7, Desert Pines 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Miners won by forfeit as the Jaguars could not field nine healthy and eligible players.
