ROUNDUP: Pahrump Valley’s Ball no-hits Western in five-inning rout

Taylor Ball tossed a five-inning no-hitter Wednesday to lead Pahrump Valley’s softball team to a 10-0 win over visiting Western.
Ball struck out five and walked only one.

Vanessa Dunham went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for the Trojans, who scored six runs in the fourth inning. Becca Gamble was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Bishop Gorman 6, Sierra Vista 5 — At Majestic Park, the Gaels scored four runs in the fifth inning and held on to beat the Mountain Lions.
Claudia Franco’s two-run single gave Gorman a 4-2 lead before it scored the final two runs on a pair of Sierra Vista errors.
The Mountain Lions scored three runs in the seventh but were unable to complete the comeback.
Gorman’s Alexis Aguirre struck out 13 in a complete-game win, allowing seven hits with no walks.
Gorman’s O’Sheyon Rollins was 3-for-4.
Maria Capparelli was 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Sierra Vista. She also pitched a complete game, scattering five hits.
Durango 3, Clark 2 — At Durango, Nicole Schultz walked to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning and winning pitcher Ashley Hall drove her home with a triple to lift the Trailblazers over the Chargers.
Schultz led off the game with a home run.
Julia Hagen gave Clark a 2-1 lead with a two-run single in the top of the fifth.
Marina Ybarra’s single tied the game for Durango in the bottom of the sixth. Hall pitched a complete game, giving up only two hits.
Valley 11, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Mickayla Romero was 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs and an RBI and pitched a two-hitter as the Vikings wrapped up at least a share of their first Northeast League title with a five-inning win over the Pioneers.
Romero struck out five and Zoe Galindo went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs for Valley.
Las Vegas 15, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas, Tiffani Taylor tossed a two-hitter to lead the Wildcats to a 15-0 five-inning rout over the Jaguars.
Las Vegas’ Nikki Diaz and Bri Guzman each had two hits.
Rancho 14, Chaparral 6 — At Chaparral, Tiffany Smith had a three-run double in the top of the fifth inning to break a 6-6 tie and lead the Rams to victory.
Chaparral outhit Rancho 15-9 but gave up 13 walks and had four errors.
