ROUNDUP: Rinker’s eighth-inning hit helps Longhorns stun Bulldogs

Gabby Rinker’s two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday plated Sierra Pico with the winning run to lift Legacy’s softball team to a 6-5 win over visiting Centennial.
After Centennial took a 5-4 lead in the top of the eighth inning on Allison Riggs’ two-out RBI single, Kiani Elia-Mendiola started the Longhorns’ rally with a one-out single to left. Pico hit a two-out double to tie the game, then scored on Rinker’s hit.
Legacy scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to force the extra inning, cashing in on an RBI double by Rinker and a game-tying fielder’s choice off the bat of Alysia Santos.
Rinker was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Pico went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three runs for Legacy.
Madison Henzlik was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs.
Coronado 12, Valley 0 — At Valley, Kendell Sauter tossed a five-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts as the Cougars topped the Vikings.
Alyssa Ayers went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI, and Danielle Amato was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Coronado.
Spring Valley 10, Pahrump Valley 8 — At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies jumped out to an 8-1 lead after the second inning and held on to down the Trojans.
Georgi DeLio homered, tripled and doubled and had three runs scored and an RBI for Spring Valley, which got three hits, including a double and a triple from Katie Campo. Sindy Cummings added a triple, a single and three RBIs for the Grizzlies.
Sarah Zinnecker went 4-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI to lead Pahrump.
Palo Verde 5, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Palo Verde, Rachel Williams and Kelsea Sweeney combined on a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts as the Panthers blanked the Crusaders.
Rachael Turner was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs, and Breanna Beatty went 1-for-3 with a double and a run for Palo Verde.
Bishop Gorman 6, Desert Oasis 0 — At Gorman, Dayton Yingling fired a four-hitter with five strikeouts to help the Gaels blank the Diamondbacks.
Shelby Estocado went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for Gorman, which turned two double plays.
Tech 10, Del Sol 0 — At Tech, Amanda Roark spun a one-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts as the Roadrunners shut out the Dragons in five innings.
Austyn Dziewit belted a three-run homer, and Kimmie Rodriguez smacked a two-run homer for Tech, which got two hits and two runs from Mikaela Tribett.
Bonanza 10, Sierra Vista 0 — At Bonanza, Megan Rabe went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and the Bengals exploded for six runs in the fourth inning on their way to a six-inning win over the Mountain Lions.
Lindsey Rieger tossed a four-hitter for Bonanza, striking out three while walking just one.
Tori Lind also went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Bonanza.
Alexis Land was 2-for-3 for Sierra Vista.
Cheyenne 19, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Vanessa Sanders went 4-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored as the Desert Shields routed the Rattlers in five innings.
Taylor Perez went 2-for-3 with three runs scored for Cheyenne.
Alyssa Fata surrendered five hits and one run, with three strikeouts and no walks.
Clark 14, Western 2 — At Clark, Alia Armstrong was 3-for-3, and the Chargers used a nine-run second inning on their way to a five-inning rout of the Warriors.
Julianna Thornock was 2-for-3 with a double for Clark. Julia Hagen tossed a two-hitter for the Chargers.
