ROUNDUP: Romero tosses no-hitter as Vikings blank Dragons

Mickayla Romero fired a no-hitter Friday to lead Valley’s softball team to a 5-0 home victory over Del Sol.
Romero struck out 12 and walked one. She also went 2-for-2 with a double and a run.
Lucelly Arias was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Vikings.
Bonanza 5, Desert Oasis 2 — At Bonanza, winning pitcher Courtney Spencer went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and struck out four to lead the Bengals past the Diamondbacks.
Morgan Hughes was 2-for-4 for Desert Oasis.
Durango 8, Clark 2 — At Clark, the Trailblazers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings and cruised past the Chargers.
Katie Moore and Mindy Larson each went 2-for-4 for Durango.
Clark’s Julia Hagen was 3-for-4, and Jasmine Fukuda was 2-for-3 for the Chargers.
Centennial 7, Cheyenne 1 — At Cheyenne, Taylor Huntly threw a five-hitter with three strikeouts to help the Bulldogs defeat the Desert Shields.
Mia Acuna went 3-for-4 with a double and a run, and Alyssa Hotman was 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs for Centennial.
Kassidy Merritt went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
Cheyenne’s Vanessa Sanders went 2-for-3.
Shadow Ridge 12, Mojave 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Sabriya Brooks belted a grand slam in the second inning to lead the Mustangs to a five-inning rout of the Rattlers.
Brooks was 2-for-2 with five RBIs. Casey Velarde and Emily Pinkston each went 2-for-3 for Shadow Ridge, which sealed the victory with six runs in the fourth inning.
Arbor View 13, Faith Lutheran 2 — At Faith Lutheran, the Aggies scored six runs in the first en route to a rout of the Crusaders in five innings.
Chelsa Baca went 3-for-4, including a three-run triple in the first inning, to lead Arbor View.
Maya Barnes drove in both Faith Lutheran runs with a fifth-inning triple.
Bishop Gorman 18, Sierra Vista 2 — At Sierra Vista, the Gaels plated 12 runs in the top of the first inning for the easy win.
Hannah Cava was 1-for-2 with two runs and three RBIs for Gorman, which had 13 hits.
Courtnee Sanchez had two of Sierra Vista’s three hits, including a double. She also drove in both runs for the Mountain Lions.
Pahrump Valley 25, Western 3 — At Western, Briana Wilson was 4-for-4 and Nikki Zinnecker blasted a two-run homer to lead the Trojans to a five-inning romp of the Warriors.
Boulder City 4-17, Moapa Valley 1-0 — At Overton, Karlee Koopman pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings to lead the Eagles to the sweep.
Koopman came in and relieved Dylan Scott in the first game, striking out three in 2 1/3 hitless innings to get the save.
Scott allowed two hits in 4 2/3 innings
In the second game, Koopman threw a one-hitter and struck out seven, and the Eagles took advantage of 10 errors by the Pirates.
Calvary Chapel 7-3, The Meadows 1-2 — At The Meadows, Elizabeth Uhrle scored the winning run in the second game on a fielding error in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Lions a sweep of the Mustangs.
Danielle Johnson homered for Calvary Chapel. Kayla Sprenz had two hits for The Meadows.
In the opener, winning pitcher Jamie Schmidt went 3-for-3 with two doubles and tossed eight strikeouts in six innings to lead the Lions. Teammate Laura Perri added two hits.
Lake Mead 7-10, Tonopah 5-2 — At Tonopah, Lynzee Freund was 5-for-8 and picked up two pitching victories with 19 strikeouts to lead the Eagles to a sweep of the Muckers.
Amanda Wellman homered in each game for Lake Mead.
Sam Herman homered in the first game, and Emma Khachikian had a double and a homer in the second.
Needles 16-15, Mountain View 2-0 — At Needles, Calif., Alex Chandler went 5-for-8 with a home run, a triple and two doubles to help the Mustangs sweep two five-inning games from the Saints.
Amy Bailey was 4-for-7 with four doubles for the Mustangs.
Needles’ Abby Chandler pitched a two-hitter with seven strikeouts in the first game, and teammate Dakota Lillard tossed a no-hitter with eight strikeouts in the nightcap.
Pahranagat Valley 9-6, Indian Springs 1-8 — At Indian Springs, Brandi Bryl went 2-for-4 with a double and triple and struck out seven in the second game to help the Thunderbirds salvage a split with the Panthers.
Alyssa Stirling was 3-for-4 for Pahranagat Valley in the nightcap, and teammate Kyle Mortensen went 2-for-4.
In the opener, Addie Canning tossed a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts give the Panthers a win.
Henderson International 22-19, Beatty 0-0 — At Beatty, Pamela Sakuma and Alex Battest each clubbed a home run in the opener and Brittany Huff homered in the nightcap to help the Wolverines sweep a pair of four-inning games from the Hornets.
Henderson International’s Kendal Short and Alyssa Ayers each had four hits in the first game, and teammate Hailey Schulz tossed a one-hitter with four strikeouts.
Huff went 2-for-2 with four RBIs in the second game.
Lincoln County 13-21, West Wendover 0-0 — At West Wendover, the Lynx limited the Wolverines to three hits in the doubleheader sweep.
Kori Gloeckner and K.C. Jensen each had a double and four RBIs in the second game.
