ROUNDUP: Romo, Brown set up win for Basic

Lacey Romo drove home the tying run with a double and scored the eventual game-winner on an errant throw Tuesday as Basic’s softball team rallied with two runs in the top of the sixth to edge host Silverado, 2-1.
Adrian Brown led off the sixth with a single and scored on Romo’s double. The winning pitcher then came home on an errant throw to first after a dropped third strike.
Romo tossed a five-hitter and struck out nine with no walks. She also went 2-for-4.
Silverado took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Riana Splinter doubled and scored on Taylee Heckman’s RBI single.
Liberty 18, Coronado 1 — At Liberty, winning pitcher Breanna English went 3-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs, and Nikki Blindeagle socked a three-run homer as the Patriots pounded the Cougars in five innings.
Diana Cassaro went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs, Francesca Foti was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Rhiannon Beck and Megan Patras each went 3-for-5. Patras added two RBIs.
The Patriots banged out 22 hits.
Tech 12, Del Sol 0 — At Tech, Amanda Roark and Nicole Lesniak combined on a two-hit shutout as the Roadrunners routed the Dragons in five innings.
Lauren Lesniak was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, Mikaela Tribett had a two-run double, and Jordyn Roark went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Tech.
 
Amanda Roark earned the win and hit three singles.
Canyon Springs 15, Desert Pines 13 — At Canyon Springs, the Pioneers scored three runs in the bottom of sixth inning to overtake the Jaguars.
Dari Carter finished 3-for-5 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored to lead Canyon Springs.
Megan Robbins went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Desert Pines.
Las Vegas 5, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Chelsea Lewis was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to help the Wildcats defeat the Sundevils.
Jasmina Salas went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Monique Hernandez pitched a five-hitter to earn the win. Hernandez struck out 11 and walked none.
Cheyenne Schindler went 3-for-3 for Eldorado.
Valley 11, Rancho 6 — At Valley, Nicolette Corona doubled and tripled with two RBIs and three runs scored to power the Vikings past the Rams.
Zoe Galindo doubled twice and scored four runs.
Jomel Rayos had two hits for Rancho.
Chaparral 16, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kendy Reynoso went 4-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBIs as the Cowboys routed the Miners in five innings.
JeNiece Morgan homered, and Melissa Romero doubled twice with two RBIs for Chaparral.
Jasmine Jones was 3-for-3 for Sunrise Mountain.
Henderson International 10, Lake Mead 0 — At Lake Mead, Alyssa Ayers went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer to help the Wolverines cruise past the Eagles in five innings.
Alex Battest added a three-run shot, and Brittany Huff and Pamela Sakuma each went 2-for-3 for Henderson International, which scored seven runs in the top of the first.
The Wolverines’ Lee Harrison pitched a two-hitter with five strikeouts.

Mountain View 13, Moapa Valley 2 — At Mountain View, Amber Gomez hit a two-run home run, and Lexie Alley had a two-run triple to help the Saints to the five-inning win.
