ROUNDUP: Sheehan strikes out 16, belts four hits in Cimarron blowout

Carrie Sheehan struck out 16 and pitched a three-hitter to lead Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team to an 18-1 victory at Del Sol.

Sheehan and Paige Savage both went 4-for-6 for the Spartans and Cintia Mejia added an inside-the-park home run

Amanda Gordon accounted for Del Sol’s run with a fifth-inning inside-the-park home run.

Foothill 5, Eldorado 3 — At Foothill, Jen James was 3-for-3 with an RBI as the Falcons pounded out 13 hits and held off the Sundevils.

Shelbie Medrano was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Foothill, which used a three-run third inning to open a 4-0 lead.

Cassandra Keven scattered seven hits in a complete game for the Falcons.

Liberty 7, Desert Oasis 1 — At Liberty, Breanna English fanned the first nine batters, finished with 13 strikeouts and tossed a two-hitter to lead the Patriots past Desert Oasis.

Carson Cooper was 3-for-3 and English was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Shadow Ridge 9, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Mandy Harmon pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a triple to lead the Mustangs over the Grizzlies.

Rae-Ann Bohm doubled twice, finishing 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs, and Ashley Huddleston went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.

Also, Mary Jordan went 3-for-3 and Amanda Aker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. 

Green Valley 12, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Katie Stewart and Carly Aughney combined on a four-hitter as the Gators beat the Mountain Lions in six innings.

Stewart allowed three hits and struck out six in four innings. Aughney had three strikeouts in two innings.

Joan Dungey’s three-run double highlighted Green Valley’s seven-run sixth inning.

Silverado 13, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Gorman, winning pitcher Akina Zucarro went 3-for-5 with a double and a triple to help Silverado beat the Gaels.

Lexi Aguirre was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Bishop Gorman.

Legacy 12, Tech 0 — At Tech, Darcey Cochran pitched a one-hitter and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs as the Longhorns routed the Roadrunners.

Cochran faced only 16 batters, striking out four and walking none.

Kayla Murray was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

Cheyenne 8, Valley 6 — At Cheyenne, Lexi Galindo was 2-for-3 with four RBIs in the Desert Shields’ win over the Vikings.

Winning pitcher Rachel Holly went 2-for-3.

Lorena Villamar rapped two doubles and a triple for the Vikings.

Desert Pines 8, Mojave 5 — At Mojave, the Jaguars took the lead with a five-run fifth inning and held on to beat the Rattlers.

Megan Robbins pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Desert Pines.

Mojave’s Erika Beltran went 2-for-4.

Bonanza 10, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Emly Osborn went 4-for-4 with a triple, and the Bengals scored nine runs in the first inning to win easily.

Courtney Spencer pitched a one-hitter.

Canyon Springs 18, Western 8 — At Western, Amber Day went 4-for-4 with three runs and Victoria Rivera was 3-for-4 with three runs to lead the Pioneers over the Warriors in five innings.

Basic 18, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Megan Feher struck out 11 batters in four innings of work as the Wolves beat the Cowboys.

Marissa Ross was 2-for-4 with a double for Basic.

Centennial 11, Sinagua (Ariz.) 1 — At Winslow, Ariz., Juelaine Noa went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and the Bulldogs scored six runs in the first inning on their way to a win in the Winslow Tournament.

Mikayla Djordjevic had a triple and three RBIs for Centennial, and Lindsay Konopelko tossed a three-hitter.

Lake Mead 15, Virginia City 1 — At Mountain View, Amanda Wellman had a triple, three RBIs and three runs to help Lake Mead beat Virginia City in the Mountain View Spring Slam tournament.

Lynzee Freund tossed a four-inning five-hitter and struck out eight for the Eagles.
Battle Mountain 8, Mountain View 1 — At Mountain View, the Saints couldn’t climb out of a 7-0 deficit entering the second inning at the Mountain View Spring Slam.
Mountain View was outhit, 11-5, and committed six errors.
