Roundup: Sierra Rivera delivers Del Sol walk-off win

Sierra Rivera’s RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday lifted Del Sol’s softball team past the visiting Mojave, 15-14.

Rivera’s single capped off a 4-run seventh for the Dragons.

Rivera finished the game going 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Jazmine Rivera, who was also the winning pitcher, went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Noa Bowa went 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI.

Emilee Mitton went 3-for-5 with a double, triple and three RBIs, and Jessica Ortiz went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the Rattlers.

Ta’Nyia Zeno and Essence McRae each had triples for the Rattlers.

Chaparral 7, Desert Pines 6 — At Chaparral, Losi Brown struck out six to earn the win in relief as the Cowboys held off the Jaguars.

Losa Laolagi was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBIs for Chaparral.

Carolina Rodriguez-Mejia finished 2-for-4 with two runs to pace Desert Pines.

Desert Oasis 16, Bonanza 2 — At Bonanza, Meaghan McInerney and Makayla Rickard each went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs as the Diamondbacks took down the Bengals.

Holly Severance threw a complete game for the Diamondbacks, who led 10-0 after two innings.

Brooke Detomoso singled in a run for the Bengals.

Shadow Ridge 16, Legacy 1 — At Legacy, Shea Clements went 3-for-3 with a home run, triple, double, three RBIs and three runs as the Mustangs rolled over the Longhorns in three innings.

Raelyn Kendall homered, knocked in four and scored three for the Mustangs, and Caitlyn Covington went 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs and two RBIs.

Clarissa Lona doubled home a run for the Longhorns.

Liberty 18, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Jessica Mez went 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBIs as every Patriots starter scored in a rout of the Sundevils.

Maddison Hamilton was 3-for-3 with a double and five RBIs for Liberty, Cali Christopher went had three RBIs and three runs, and Jasmine Gonzalez scored three times.

Mariana Maldonado went 2-for-2 with a double for the Sundevils.

Western vs. Virgin Valley — At Mesquite, the game was postponed due to weather.

Torrance National Tournament

Palo Verde 4, Whittier (Calif.) 0 — At Torrance, California, Kendall Hopkins fired a two-hitter as the Panthers beat the Cardinals.

Hopkins struck out eight with no walks.

She also went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Jessica Hopkins went 2-for-3 with a double, and Makena Martin drove in two runs for Palo Verde.

Centennial 3, La Cerna (Calif.) 1 — At Torrance, California, Amanda Sink threw a three-hitter as the Bulldogs beat the Lancers.

Sink struck out seven and walked four.

Seanna Simpson was 3-for-3, and Samantha Lawrence doubled and drove in two runs for Centennial.

Coronado 5, Culver City 2 — At Torrance, California, Tatum Spanger was 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs and earned the win in the circle as the Cougars beat the Centaurs.

Spangler fired a three-hitter and didn’t allow an earned run. She struck out seven with no walks.

Ashley Ward went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Coronado.

Centennial 6, San Pedro (Calif.) 3 — At Torrance, California, Deanna Barrera pitched a three-hitter and didn’t allow an earned run in a five-inning win over the Pirates.

Barrera also went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Rhea Paiva added two hits, and Kiana Tate drove in two runs for Centennial.

Palo Verde 10, South Torrance (Calif.) 1 — At Torrance, California, Lauryn Barker was 2-for-4 with two homers and five RBIs as the Panthers beat the Spartans.

Grace Chavez, Samantha Wade and Tayllor Askland each went 2-for-4 for Palo Verde.

Askland allowed an unearned run on one hit in 5⅔ innings to get the win. She struck six and walked two.

Basic 2, Cerritos (Calif.) 0 — At Torrance, California, Shelby Basso fired a three-hitter as the Wolves beat the Dons.

Mikayla Berg was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Lauren Koshak drove in a run for Basic.

Agoura (Calif.) 6, Coronado 3 — At Torrance, California, Tyler Goldstein went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI to lead the Chargers over the Cougars.

Tatum Spangler doubled and scored twice for Coronado.

West Torrance (Calif.) 9, Basic 1 — At Torrance, California, Hailey Cowing went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs as the Warriors beat the Wolves.

Shelby Basso was 2-for-2 for Baisc.

Kick Off the Season Tournament

Arbor View 11, Farmington (N.M.) 4 — At Bishop Gorman, Torii Forsberg was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and five RBIs as the Aggies defeated the Scorpions.

Adriana Thomason and Rozanne Ines each supplied two hits and two runs for Arbor View, which used a five-run third inning to take control. Mikayla Kolojay earned the win in the circle for the Aggies.

Arbor View 7, Mar Vista (Calif.) 6 — At Bishop Gorman, the Aggies endured a 45-minute rain delay and used three hits to top the Mariners in five innings.

Cierra Mikaelsen belted a three-run home run in the first inning for Arbor View.

Clovis (Calif.) 8, Foothill 3 — At Bishop Gorman, Kylie Becker had a triple and two RBIs, but the Falcons fell to the Cougars.

Morgan Matsumoto scored twice for the Falcons, who led 1-0 after the first.

Allie Puente and Caitlin Decanio homered for Clovis.

Marist Catholic (Ore.) 7, Arbor View 0 — At Bishop Gorman, the Spartans scored seven runs in the first two innings and downed the Aggies in the Kick Off The Season Tournament.

Rozanne Ines supplied a single and a stolen base to lead Arbor View.

Damonte Ranch 18, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Bishop Gorman, Katelyn Hunter went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs as the Gaels fell to the Mustangs.

Spring Slam Tournament

Sunrise Mountain 5, Mountain View 3 — At Mountain View, Christabelle Garner threw a complete game and struck out 11 for the Miners in their six-inning win over the Eagles.

Solangel Gamez hit a double for the Miners, who scored four runs in the third inning.

Josey White had two RBIs for the Eagles.

Indian Springs 18, Mountain View 2 — At Mountain View, Aspen Avery went 2-for-3 with a triple, four RBIs and three runs as the Thunderbirds routed the Saints in three innings.

Faith Prine went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and three RBIs for Indian Springs.

Fernanda Aguilar and Sydney Stanton scored for the Saints.

Arizona Lutheran (Ariz.) 19, Mountain View 1 — At Mountain View, Valerie Gonzalez singled in a run, bu the Saints fell to the Coyotes.

Fernanda Aguilar was hit by a pitch and scored for the Saints.
