ROUNDUP: Smitley scores winning run as Desert Shields edge Aggies

Tiffany Smitley scored the go-ahead run on a fielding error Wednesday to help Cheyenne’s softball team pull out a 6-5 win over visiting Arbor View.
Megan Ingram’s bases-loaded squeeze bunt plated Vanessa Sanders with the tying run for the Desert Shields, who erased a 5-1 deficit with five runs in the fifth inning.
Ashlyn Ames smacked a two-run homer, and Kristina Billante added two hits, a run scored and an RBI for Arbor View.
Centennial 9, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron, Taylor Huntly went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a double and five RBIs and earned the win in relief as the Bulldogs defeated the Spartans.
Heather Bowen added three hits for Centennial.
Carrie Sheehan belted a two-run homer, and Kayla Simmers supplied two hits for Cimarron-Memorial.
Palo Verde 8, Shadow Ridge 2 — At Shadow Ridge, Melissa McCormick tossed a three-hitter and struck out nine, and the Panthers scored five runs in the top of the first on their way to a win over the Mustangs.
Cheryl Iddings went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs for Palo Verde.
Faith Lutheran 16, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Hayley Thomas fired a five-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Crusaders routed the Rattlers.
Lauryn Lipe went 2-for-3 with three runs, and Ashley Gord had a bases-loaded triple for Faith Lutheran.
Durango 13, Spring Valley 9 — At Spring Valley, Mindy Larson was 4-for-5 with a homer, two runs and three RBIs to help the Trailblazers top the Grizzlies.
Nicole Schultz went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs for Durango, which scored seven times in the top of the seventh.
Victoria Phillips was 3-for-4 with two runs for Spring Valley, which had five runs in the bottom of the seventh. Rikki Kirchefer added a triple, three runs and two RBIs for the Grizzlies.
Bishop Gorman 18, Western 0 — At Gorman, Dayton Yingling and Gracie Martinez combined on a five-inning one-hitter and supplied two doubles apiece to help the Gaels blank the Warriors.
O’Sheyon Rollins, Bailey Zavala and Erika Garcia each went 3-for-3 for Gorman, which pounded out 19 hits. Miranda Robles had two doubles for the Gaels.
Pahrump Valley 19, Sierra Vista 1 — At Pahrump, Whitney Roderick and Mallory Cole combined on a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Trojans to an easy win over the Mountain Lions.
Casey Sierra went 3-for-4 with two doubles, and Sara Williams doubled twice for Pahrump.
Coronado 12, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Danielle Amato pitched a six-hitter and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs to lead the Cougars to the six-inning win.
Lee Harrison was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI, and Kendell Sauter had an inside-the-park homer for Coronado.
Boulder City 20, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kacey Ochoa went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Taylor McKeever was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as the Eagles routed the Miners in five innings.
Alex Frye threw a three-hitter and added a double and an RBI for Boulder City.
Tech 6, Moapa Valley 1 — At Tech, Amanda Roark tossed a no-hitter and struck out 13 to lead the Roadrunners past the Pirates.
Virgin Valley 16, Chaparral 3 — At Mesquite, the Bulldogs used a 12-run second inning to down the Cowboys in five innings.
