ROUNDUP: Thornton beats tag to lift Valley to win over Eldorado

Sarah Thornton raced home, beating the tag on Mickayla Romero’s fielder’s choice in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday to lift Valley’s softball team to a 7-6 home win over Eldorado.
Zoe Galindo went 5-for-5 with three doubles and two runs, and Nicholette Corona was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Vikings, who locked up the Northeast League’s No. 2 seed for the Sunrise Region playoffs.
Gabriela Trillo went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Megan Jaramillo homered for the Sundevils.
Clark 13, Sierra Vista 0 — At Clark, Julia Hagen tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out seven without allowing a walk, to help the Chargers blank Sierra Vista.
The Mountain Lions’ only baserunner reached on an error in the fourth inning.
Alison Heming was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Anna Jaehn was 1-for-1 with a triple and two RBIs for Clark.
Canyon Springs 4, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, Dari Carter went 2-for-4, and the Pioneers scored twice in the third inning to edge the Cowboys.
Melissa Romero was 2-for-2 for Chaparral.
Rancho 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Amber Marlett held the Wildcats to one run on six hits to earn the win for the Rams.
Tiffany Smith went 2-for-3 for Rancho.
Jenise Gutierrez finished 3-for-3 for Las Vegas.
Desert Pines 21, Sunrise Mountain 13 — At Sunrise Mountain, Megan Robbins was 6-for-6 with a double, a triple and two RBIs as Desert Pines outlasted the Miners.
Odette Jane Galvez also went 6-for-6 with three RBIs for the Jaguars, who pounded out 28 hits.
Jasmine Jones was 3-for-5 with two doubles, and Kaiti Brown was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a double for Sunrise Mountain.
Bonanza 5, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Bonanza, Courtney Spencer tossed a five-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts to lead the Bengals past the Gaels.
Emily Osborn went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Bonanza, which scored all five runs in the fifth inning.
Taylor Gordy was 2-for-3 with a double, and Jessica Delp had two RBIs for the Bengals.
Durango 13, Western 2 — At Western, Aleesa Lish had three hits and scored three runs as the Trailblazers routed the Warriors in five innings.
Marley Sandoval added two hits, including a double, for Durango.
Michelle Simon collected two of Western’s four hits.
Desert Oasis 14, Spring Valley 3 — At Desert Oasis, the Diamondbacks scored 12 runs in the third inning en route to a five-inning victory over Spring Valley.
Nicole Liakos went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Holly O’Hara was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored for Desert Oasis.
Georgi Delio finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored for Spring Valley.
Arbor View 9, Palo Verde 3 — At Palo Verde, Savannah Webster went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer as the Aggies took advantage of nine errors and stunned the Panthers.
Chelsa Baca, Marlene Panduro, Karli Lehr and Nichole Diaz each added two hits for the Aggies.
Danielle Hearn was 1-for-2 with a double, and Melissa McCormick went 1-for-3 with a triple for Palo Verde.
Legacy 11, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Sierra Pico tossed a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts and went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs to lead the Longhorns past the Desert Shields in five innings.
Jessie Wilhelm went 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs, and Danielle Pick supplied two hits for Legacy.
Shadow Ridge 14, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Krislyn Campos smacked a grand slam in a 13-run first inning as the Mustangs routed the Crusaders in five innings.
Danielle Buecker went 3-for-4 for Shadow Ridge. Caitlin Wilson and Katie McClure combined on a four-hit shutout.
Cimarron-Memorial 16, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Stephanie Kaplan and Nora Murphy combined to throw a one-hitter as the Spartans shut out the host Rattlers.
Kaplan was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, Hannah Williams went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and five RBIs, and Patti Ferguson hit 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Cimarron.
Boulder City 5, Tech 4 — At Boulder City, Alison Rants scored on Paxton Fleming’s sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Eagles the win over the Roadrunners.
Winning pitcher Karlee Koopman struck out 12 and hit 2-for-3. Taylor McKeever was 3-for-4 for Boulder City, and Fleming went 2-for-4.
Nicole Lesniak was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Tech.
Lincoln County 11, Virgin Valley 0 — At Lincoln County, Kori Gloeckner doubled twice and combined with K.C. Jensen on a two-hit shutout, leading the Lynx past the Bulldogs in five innings.
Melanie Florence cracked a two-run homer for Lincoln County.
Lake Mead 15, The Meadows 1 — At The Meadows, Amanda Wellman went 3-for-4 with a triple and a double as the Eagles blitzed the Mustangs.
Lynzee Freund was 2-for-3 for Lake Mead.
Pahranagat Valley 11, Mountain View 1 — At Mountain View, Addie Canning tossed a six-inning two-hitter, and the Panthers took advantage of 12 errors to defeat the Saints.
