ROUNDUP: Valley edges Las Vegas in softball

Jasmine Villamar drew a bases-loaded walk with no outs in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday, plating Zoe Galindo with the winning run as Valley’s softball team nipped Las Vegas, 2-1.
Galindo led off the bottom of the eighth with a double and moved to third on Lorena Villamar’s single.
Mickayla Romero walked to load the bases before the walk to Jasmine Villamar forced in the winning run.
Lorena Villamar tossed a seven-hitter for Valley.
Las Vegas’ Monique Hernandez spun a three-hitter and struck out 11.
Eldorado 4, Rancho 3 — At Rancho, Taylor Schroeder tripled and continued home on a throwing error in the top of the seventh as the Sundevils edged the Rams.
Shelbee West went 2-for-3 with a double for Eldorado. Megan Jaramillo doubled and scored two runs for the Sundevils.
Chaparral 16, Desert Pines 6 — At Chaparral, Jeniece Morgan went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to lead a 23-hit attack as the Cowboys routed the Jaguars.
Heather Hernandez and Kendy Reynoso each went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for Chaparral.
Nicole LaGesse was 2-for-3 for Desert Pines.
Desert Oasis 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Desert Oasis, Ashley Leidenheimer’s squeeze bunt in the sixth inning plated Nicole Liakos with the eventual winning run as the Diamondbacks downed the Mountain Lions.
Liakos led off the bottom of the sixth with a single and moved to second on Briona Santovito’s single. A passed ball advanced Liakos to third.
Holly O’Hara had a two run-single in the first inning for Desert Oasis.
Maria Capparelli hit a two-run home run in the sixth for Sierra Vista.
Capparelli and Diamondbacks pitcher Desiree Laswell each tossed a four-hitter.
Spring Valley 20, Bishop Gorman 4 — At Gorman, Jasmine Wilson opened a six-run first inning with a home run for the Grizzlies in their win over the Gaels.
Jessica Martinez was 4-for-5 with three RBIs for Spring Valley.
Bonanza 12, Western 0 — At Western, Sam Snyder tossed a one-hitter and struck out 13 to lead the Bengals past the Warriors.
Bonanza scored nine runs in the first inning.
Cimarron-Memorial 10, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Cimarron, Carrie Sheehan tossed a three-hit shutout and struck out seven as the Spartans routed the Crusaders in five innings.
Sheehan and Vanessa Gonzalez each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. One of Sheehan’s hits was a double.
Starlyn Thomas was 2-for-3 with two doubles for the Spartans.
Marist (Ore.) 8, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, Nyree White tossed a one-hitter and had 19 strikeouts for Marist.
Mikayla Thielges had Silverado’s lone hit — a second-inning single.
