SMALL SCHOOLS: Koopman, Boulder City knock off Pirates

Karlee Koopman pitched a five-inning three-hitter to lead Boulder City to a 10-0 win over visiting Moapa Valley (7-19) in the opening game of their best-of-3 Class 3A Southern League series on Friday.
Paxton Fleming went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for the Eagles (29-3).
Brittany Patt was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs, and Megan Snyder and Ali Rants each went 2-for-3 for Boulder City.
Faith Lutheran 14, Virgin Valley 4 — At Faith Lutheran, Kaitlyn Patterson went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and five RBIs to help the Crusaders (15-15) rout Virgin Valley (8-21) in the opener of a best-of-3 Class 3A Southern League series.
Winning pitcher Kellie Kersey went 3-for-3 with three RBIs for Faith Lutheran, which rallied from a 3-0 first-inning deficit.
Pahranagat Valley 23, Lake Mead 5 — At Alamo, Pahranagat Valley (17-8-1) erased deficits of 3-0 and 5-3, scoring 20 runs in their final three times at bat to advance to the Class 1A Southern Region title game with a win over the Eagles.
Chanae Canning and Kyla Mortensen each went 2-for-3 for the Panthers. Roxie Lasike was 2-for-4 with a double, and Stevie Horrocks added a home run.
Addie Canning had 11 strikeouts for the Panthers.
Indian Springs 8, Tonopah 4 — At Alamo, Brandi Bryl hit a two-run homer in the first inning and tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts as Indian Springs eliminated Tonopah (7-11) from the Class 1A Southern Region tourney.
Lake Mead 5, Indian Springs 4 — At Alamo, Lynzee Freund spun a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts and went 2-for-4 to lift the Eagles (14-15-1) past Indian Springs (11-10) in an elimination game.
Tina Traster went 2-for-4 with a double for the Thunderbirds.
