SOFTBALL: Ackerman’s two-run double lifts Las Vegas over Basic

Arienn Ackerman’s two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Las Vegas High’s softball team to a 4-2 home win over Basic on Monday.

Skylar Gorrell tossed a four-hitter and went 1-for-2 with a double for the Wildcats.

Sanoe Helenini was 1-for-2 with a double for the Wolves.

Coronado 7, Liberty 6 — At Coronado, Basia Query was 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs to help the Cougars edge the Patriots.

Sarah Pinkston was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Coronado, which built a 7-0 lead in the third inning before Liberty cut the gap to 7-5 entering the seventh.

Liberty’s Marisa Olmos led off the seventh with a triple. Two outs later, Olmos scored on an error to trim the lead to 7-6. Pinkston got a groundout to end the rally.

Olmos and Breanna Alvarez each went 2-for-4 for Liberty.

Sierra Vista 6, Durango 5 — At Sierra Vista, Mia Buranamonti went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs as the Mountain Lions held on to defeat the Trailblazers.

Sierra Vista built a 6-1 lead heading into the seventh before Durango scored four runs.

Kaitlyn O’Hearn had two doubles for Durango.

Mojave 16, Desert Pines 12 — At Desert Pines, Emilee Mitton had two doubles and a triple to help the Rattlers rally from a 9-7 sixth-inning deficit and down the Jaguars.

Janysa Trujillo added two doubles for Mojave.

Maiya Richardson doubled and had four RBIs for Desert Pines.

Foothill 10, Valley 0 — At Foothill, Sadie Christian went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to help the Falcons to a six-inning victory over the Vikings.

Daryan Meade went 2-for-3 for Foothill.

Makenzie Andrews tossed a five-hitter and struck out five for the Falcons.

Spring Valley 12, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Raven Bierlein tossed a five-inning two-hitter as the Grizzlies blanked the Bengals.

Stephanie Huff went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Madison Hood was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Spring Valley. Vivian Quiroz-Montano went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Teegan Teal was 2-for-3 for Spring Valley.

Tech 12, Clark 0 — At Tech, Ashlee Carratelli went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and pitched three hitless innings with eight strikeouts as the Roadrunners blanked the Chargers in five innings.

Caratelli and Gizele Cascos combined on a two-hitter.

Julia Lopez was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Tech.

Rancho 13, Canyon Springs 0 — At Rancho, Lili Gutierrez threw a three-hitter and struck out 11 as the Rams blanked the Pioneers in five innings.

Sam Pochop went 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs, and Katerina Anthony was 2-for-3 with a RBI for Rancho.

Arbor View 13, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Arbor View, Terren Vinson was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs as the Aggies routed the Crusaders in five innings.

Kaylea Patridge was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two runs and an RBI, and Adriana Thomason went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Arbor View. Brittany Henricksen was 2-for-3 for the Aggies.

Kayla Rutledge spun a three-hitter to get the win.

Green Valley 14, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Allie Lamb threw a two-hitter as the Gators routed the Sundevils in five innings.

Samantha Loving went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs, and Tyre Hilton was 3-for-5 with two doubles for Green Valley. Alexa Blazek was 2-for-4 with a double for the Gators.

Kristie Thomas went 2-for-3 for Eldorado.

Palo Verde 22, Boulder City 0 — At Palo Verde, Allyson Snelling was 4-for-4 with two doubles as the Panthers routed the Eagles in five innings.

Grace Chavez was 3-for-4 with a home run, and Kali Tomlinson also homered for Palo Verde.

Haylee Lupinetti and Kendall Hopkins combined on a one-hitter for the Panthers.
