SOFTBALL: Basic rallies from five-run deficit to top Eldorado

Izabelle Morales tossed a five-hitter with three strikeouts, and Mikayla Berg went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs and four RBIs to help Basic’s softball team rally from a five-run deficit to top host Eldorado 18-5 in six innings on Wednesday.

Bailey Cunanan was 3-for-5 with three doubles, and Sanoe Helenihi was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs for Basic, which trailed 5-0 after two innings. After pulling within 5-4 after three innings, the Wolves scored seven runs in the top of the fourth to take control.

Kristie Thomas and Mariana Maldonado each tripled for Eldorado.

Coronado 16, Las Vegas 5 — At Coronado, Taylor Okamura went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and six RBIs, and Jillian James struck out eight over four innings to earn the win as the Cougars routed the Wildcats in six innings.

James also went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Tatum Spangler drove in two runs and tripled, and Sophia McCann had two hits, including a triple, for Coronado, which led 4-0 after the first inning.

Sabrina Saldate tripled, and Skylar Gorrell doubled for Las Vegas.

Foothill 12, Green Valley 2 — At Foothill, Leah Becker was 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs, and Haleigh Olive was 1-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to lead the Falcons to a six-inning win over the Gators.

Kayla King scattered seven hits in a complete game to earn the win and was 2-for-3. Skylar Gluade was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs, and Caitlyn Stevenson went 2-for-3 for Foothill, which led 7-0 after three innings.

Alexa Blazek was 2-for-3 with a double for Green Valley.

Tech 12, Chaparral 3 — At Chaparral, Haylee Makue-Vasconcellos went 3-for-4 with a triple to lead the Roadrunners past the Cowboys.

Melissa Fuller was 2-for-4 with a double, and Katy Orellana was 2-for-3 for Tech, which led 3-0 after two innings.

Fiona Togogae was 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs.

Shadow Ridge 16, Legacy 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Alyssa Stanley struck out seven in a one-hitter, and Caitlyn Covington went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and two RBIs in the Mustangs’ three-inning win over the Longhorns.

Alexis Toia doubled and had three RBIs, and Raelyn Kendall tripled for Shadow Ridge, which got doubles from Samantha Milanovich and Sydney Morgan.

Angel Ortiz had Legacy’s lone hit.

Palo Verde 13, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Palo Verde, Ally Snelling was 2-for-3 with a dobule, a home run and four RBIs, and Kendall Hopkins struck out four in a three-hitter to help the Panthers to a five-inning victory over the Spartans.

Cara Beatty was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Makena Martin went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for Palo erde.

Grace Chavez went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Mackenzie Ryan doubled and drove in three runs for the Panthers.

Diona Whitley had a double and an RBI for Cimarron.

Moapa Valley 13, Del Sol 1 — At Overton, Lainey Cornwall went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs to help the Pirates defeat the Dragons in five innings.

Aria Messer and Kessa Evans each went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Moapa Valley, which scored nine runs in the first inning.

Del Sol’s Jeanette Poulsen was 2-for-3.

Boulder City 15, Virgin Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Bailey Bennett-Jordan pitched a no-hitter and was 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Eagles to a three-inning rout of the Bulldogs.

Lily Osman was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs, and Marleena Mills tripled and drove in two runs. Alea Lehr and Ryann Reese each drove in a pair of runs for Boulder City, which led 7-0 after the first inning.

Silverado 15, Canyon Springs 0 — At Silverado, Alycia Kobashigawa and Jaime Gonzalez combined on a three-inning no-hitter as the Skyhawks rolled past the Pioneers.

Mary Dungey and Megan Johnson each went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Silverado.

Bishop Gorman 19, Clark 0 — At Gorman, Monique Passalacqua went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs and three RBIs, and Darian Pancirov was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs and two RBIs to power the Gaels to a three-inning victory over the Chargers.

Hannah Gondini added two hits, three runs and an RBI for Gorman, which scored 14 runs in the first inning.
