SOFTBALL: Elusserre elevates Canyon Springs over Roadrunners

 

Winning pitcher Engelor Elusserre went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs on Friday to lead Canyon Springs’ softball team to an 18-15 win over visiting Tech.

Ciera Berkemeyer was 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs for the Pioneers, who led 15-2 after three innings and held off the Roadrunners.

Emilee Kaye had four RBIs for Canyon Springs.

Foothill 3, Boulder City 0 — At Foothill, Aricia Dami tossed a four-hitter, striking out four and walking two, to lead the Falcons by the Eagles.

Jordan Corn was 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Lauren Penksa went 2-for-2 for Foothill. Dami was 2-for-3, and Alexia Campbell added a triple and an RBI for the Falcons.

Centennial 6, Green Valley 3 — At Green Valley, Bailie Nelson went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI to lead the Bulldogs by the Gators.

Heather Bowen was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Madison Henzlik went 2-for-3 for Centennial.

Maggie Manwarren was 3-for-4 for Green Valley.

Rancho 7, Legacy 2 — At Legacy, Aly Lamboo tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no earned runs as the Rams downed the Longhorns.

Alyssa Sotelo’s double was Legacy’s lone hit.

Cimarron-Memorial 9, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Sarina Cresswell went 2-for-4 to help the Spartans defeat the Grizzlies.

Stevie Southard tossed a three-hitter for Cimarron.

Cheyenne 20, Sunrise Mountain 12 — At Cheyenne, Courtney Gain went 5-for-5 with three RBIs to help the Desert Shields rally for a victory over the Miners.

Vanessa Sanders went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs to help Cheyenne, which battled back from a 10-7 third-inning deficit.

Imani Kroon went 3-for-3 to lead Sunrise Mountain.

Palo Verde 10, Eldorado 0 — At Palo Verde, Melissa Lacro was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and four RBIs as the Panthers topped the Sundevils in six innings.

Kelsea Sweeney tossed a five-hitter for Palo Verde.

Sabrina Summers was 2-for-3 for Eldorado.

Del Sol 14, Western 9 — At Del Sol, Brittany Collins went 2-for-4, and the Dragons used a nine-run sixth inning to rally past the Warriors.

Alexis Clark was 2-for-5 for Western.

Shadow Ridge 21, Valley 1 — At Valley, Easton Clements went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs as the Mustangs topped the Vikings in five innings.

Justin Garganese homered for the Mustangs.

Andrea Darby finished 1-for-2 with a run scored for Valley.

Pahrump Valley 11-16, Virgin Valley 4-2 — At Pahrump, Amanda Pryor went 2-for-5 with a double in the opener and reached base safely in all four trips to the plate in the nightcap as the Trojans swept the Bulldogs.

Bryanna Soliwoda went 2-for-4 with a double in the first game for Pahrump, which scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Lauren Koenig tossed a four-hitter and didn't allow an earned run.

In the second game, Soliwoda and Katelyn Button also reached base four times as the Trojans rolled to a five-inning win. Pryor and Mallory Cole combined on a four-hitter.

Needles 23-12, Calvary Chapel 3-1 — At Needles, Calif., Andrea Leslie-Merchain homered, tripled and drove in four runs to lead the Mustangs to a sweep of the Lions in a pair of five-inning games.

Dakota Lillard added two doubles and was the winning pitcher in the opener, striking out seven. Abby Chandler won the nightcap, striking out five and not allowing an earned run.

Lincoln County 11-16, The Meadows 1-2 — At The Meadows, Jessica Shoup went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs in the opener as the Lynx swept the Mustangs in a six-inning first game and a five-inning nightcap.

Elle Scott was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs, and Britten Hafen was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs in the second game for Lincoln County.

Tonopah 13-20, Sandy Valley 2-0 — At Tonopah, Megan Donham went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and a run in the opener as the Muckers swept a pair of five-inning games from the Sidewinders.

Winning pitcher Bria Galli struck out six in four innings in the first game.

In the nightcap, Deanna VanPoucke and Julia Klapper both homered for the Muckers, and Donham tossed a one-hitter.

Taylor Dellinger was 2-for-2 with two runs and three RBIs for Tonopah in the second game.
