SOFTBALL: Gutierrez, Pochop help Rams blank Las Vegas

Lili Gutierrez and Samantha Pochop combined on a three-hitter Saturday to help host Rancho’s softball team to a 7-0 win over Las Vegas.
Gianna Carosone went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for Rancho, which put the game away with a four-run sixth inning.
Gutierrez was 2-for-3, and Briana Gonzalez went 1-for-1 with an RBI for the Rams. Samantha Pochop was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Rancho.
Desert Oasis 9, Bishop Gorman 8 — At Desert Oasis, Elsy Guzman’s double to left-center field with no outs in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Maggie Shepard with the winning run as the Diamondbacks nipped the Gaels.
Shepard began the bottom of the eighth by reaching and advancing to second on an error.
Justine Tadeo-Corpus was 3-for-5 with four RBIs for Desert Oasis, which led 8-6 entering the seventh before the Gaels scored twice to force the extra inning.
Holly Severance was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI, and winning pitcher Paisley Garcia was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Desert Oasis.
Morgan Blanner went 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI for Gorman. Monique Passalacqua was 3-for-4 with two runs, and Darian Pancirov went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for the Gaels.
Boulder City 1, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Boulder City, Marlena Mills’ single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning plated Lily Osman with the winning run as the Eagles edged the Trojans.
Charlene Masterson tossed a three-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts for Boulder City.
Pahrump’s Amaya Mendoza threw a seven-hitter and struck out three.
Green Valley 5, Silverado 2 — At Green Valley, Samantha Loving tossed a four-hitter and struck out six as the Gators defeated the Skyhawks.
Tyre Hilton went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Green Valley, which scored four runs in the sixth inning to erase a 2-1 deficit.
Cinthia Garcia was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Isabel Herrera was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Green Valley.
Alessandra Ponce was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Silverado.
Liberty 10, Valley 0 — At Liberty, Soraya Seumalo and Jessica Meza combined on a five-inning one-hitter as the Patriots blanked the Vikings.
McKenna Hefley went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Liberty, which scored seven runs in the first inning.
Foothill 13, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Dalyse Whiteside tossed a five-inning two-hitter and struck out five to lead the Falcons by the Pioneers.
Whiteside also had four RBIs for Foothill, which led 7-0 after one inning.
Daryan Meade and Kylie Becker each went 2-for-4 for Foothill.
Coronado 27, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Tatum Spangler was 5-for-6 with a triple, a double and five RBIs as the Cougars routed the Sundevils.
Basia Query was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Nicole Hardy was 3-for-3 with an RBI for Coronado.
Kristie Thomas was 2-for-3 for Eldorado.
