SOFTBALL: Holman’s bat, arm help Sundevils top Valley

Winning pitcher Heather Holman went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI on Saturday to help Eldorado’s softball team rally for an 11-5 win at Valley.

The Sundevils trailed 5-2 after three innings, but scored twice in the fourth, twice in the sixth and five times in the seventh.

Gabriella Morales was 3-for-4 with a solo home run, and Monique Beaudry went 1-for-3 with a double for the Vikings.

Desert Oasis 6, Sierra Vista 3 — At Sierra Vista, Holly Severance had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs to help the Diamondbacks top the Mountain Lions.

Izriah Hodson doubled and singled for Desert Oasis.

Kalei Watkins and Mia Buranamonti each had two hits for Sierra Vista.

Foothill 14, Las Vegas 4 — At Foothill, Alexis Farias had two doubles and five RBIs to help the Falcons to a six-inning win over the Wildcats.

Sarah Maddox went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs for Foothill, which scored eight runs in the second inning and ended the game with a five-run sixth inning.

Samantha Taylor had two doubles, two runs and two RBIs, and Skylar Gorrell was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Las Vegas.

Rancho 12, Basic 2 — At Basic, Gianna Carosone went 3-for-4 with two home runs to lead the Rams to a five-inning win over the Wolves.

Winning pitcher Lili Gutierrez was 3-for-4 with a double for Rancho, which played the final two innings with only eight players because of an injury.

Izabelle Morales was 2-for-2 for Basic.

Coronado 19, Silverado 5 — At Silverado, winning pitcher Tatum Spangler was 4-for-5 with a home run and a double as the Cougars routed the Skyhawks in five innings.

Jaiden Johnson was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, and Basia Query went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double for Coronado, which also got a home run from Brooke Younie.

Alexa Ostolaza was 1-for-1 with a three-run home run, and Katherine Dimaya went 1-for-1 with a double for Silverado.

Liberty 10, Canyon Springs 0 — At Liberty, Jessica Meza threw a five-inning three-hitter to lead the Patriots by the Pioneers.

Kylie Hefley went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Ashleigh Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with a double for Liberty. Sierra Jaramillo and Jasmine Gonzalez each went 2-for-2 for Liberty, which scored all of its runs in the first inning.

Pahrump Valley 21, Desert Pines 5 — At Desert Pines, the Trojans used a nine-run third inning to pull away from the Jaguars and win in five innings.

Pahranagat Valley 17-15, Round Mountain 1-5 — At Alamo, Madison Harris went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs in the opener and 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the nightcap to help the Panthers sweep the Knights.

Kaitlyn Davis tossed a five-inning two-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a triple in the first game for Pahranagat Valley.

In the nightcap, Madalyn Taylor was 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs, and Davis and Morgan Harris each added a home run for Pahranagat Valley.
