SOFTBALL: Kendall, Mustangs rally by Arbor View in fifth

Raelyn Kendall went 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs, and Shadow Ridge scored nine runs in the fifth inning in a 17-7 road softball victory over Arbor View.
Kate Dennis had two doubles, and Shelbi Denman pitched 5 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win for Shadow Ridge, which trailed 4-3 after four innings.
Arbor View’s Adriana Thomason was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and three runs, and Taylor Whalen went 3-for-4 for the Aggies. Arbor View committed seven errors.
Bishop Gorman 5, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Bishop Gorman, Hannah Gondini went 2-for-3 to lead the Gaels past the Spartans.
Samantha Stanfill went the distance and struck out four to pick up the win.
Rebecca Johnson hit a solo homer to lead Cimarron, and teammate Amber Rhett went 2-for-3.
Spring Valley 5, Western 1 — At Western, Michaela Hood spun a three-hitter to lead the Grizzlies past the Warriors.
Hood struck out 10 with no strikeouts. She also doubled.
Mariah Ward had two hits, including a double, to lead the Spring Valley offense. Teegan Teal added two singles for the Grizzlies.
Desert Oasis 17, Legacy 4 — At Legacy, Elsy Guzman went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and three RBIs as the Diamondbacks routed the Longhorns in six innings.
Meagan Anders was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, three runs and four RBIs, and Hailey Jaramillo went 3-for-5 with four RBIs for Desert Oasis. Justine Tadeo-Corpuz was 4-for-5 with three runs, and Meaghan McInerney went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs for the Diamondbacks.
Legacy’s Eliza Rodriguez was 3-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.
Centennial 16, Durango 2 — At Durango, Hannah Jones and Angel Love each homered as the Bulldogs routed the Trailblazers in six innings.
Lina Barrera, Stephanie Day and Ava Dolan each doubled for the Bulldogs, who blew the game open with an eight-run sixth inning.
Deanna Barrera went the distance and allowed two runs on five hits to pick up the win.
Durango’s Alexis Geraldo hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning.
Faith Lutheran 11, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Mosie Foley hit two home runs and combined with Calleen Ryan on a five-inning two-hitter as the Crusaders blanked the Desert Shields.
Foley went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and pitched three scoreless innings of relief to get the win for Faith Lutheran.
Sara Zelazny was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Claire Peck went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Crusaders.
Sierra Vista 11, Clark 0 — At Sierra Vista, Alyssa Lewis and Harmony Dominguez combined to no-hit the Chargers in a five-inning rout.
Lewis fanned three over three innings, and Dominguez struck out five in two innings.
Jamie Kalaau-Sunia’s grand slam highlighted a 10-run first inning for Sierra Vista.
Mia Buranamonti had two triples, and Daelynn Hilton had a double and an RBI for the Mountain Lions.
Pahrump Valley 15, Mojave 2 — At Pahrump, Jessica Gray went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as the Trojans routed the Rattlers in five innings.
Amaya Mendoza allowed one run over the first three innings to pick up the win.
Anastasia Evans and Emilee Mitton each doubled for Mojave.
Palo Verde 19, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Kendall Hopkins tossed a one-hit shutout, and the Panthers used a 10-run first inning to cruise by the Bengals.
Makall Whetten had a solo home run in the first inning for Palo Verde, which finished with 21 hits.
