SOFTBALL: Late error helps Las Vegas edge Basic

Las Vegas’ softball team took advantage of an error to score the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the host Wildcats edged Basic 4-3 on Tuesday.
Skylar Gorrell earned the win in the circle and had an RBI double at the plate for the Wildcats, who got two hits apiece from Angelina Visitacion and Sarina Ramirez.
Sanoe Helenihi was 2-for-4 with a solo home run to lead Basic.
Foothill 15, Valley 0 — At Valley, Kayla King drove in three runs, and the Falcons took advantage of 13 walks to defeat the Vikings in three innings.
King allowed one hit and struck out four to earn the victory.
Kylie Becker and Haleigh Olive scored three runs for Foothill.
Eldorado 14, Canyon Springs 2 — At Canyon Springs, Mariana Maldanado went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Jonna White also drove in two runs as the Sundevils pounded the Pioneers in five innings.
Adriana Romero was 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Kristie Thomas finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored for Eldorado.
Thomas allowed four hits and two unearned runs to go along with 12 strikeouts.
Liberty 15, Green Valley 5 — At Liberty, Marisa Olmos was 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs, and Shelby Carvaino belted a three-run home run to highlight a seven-run fifth inning as the Patriots beat the Gators in six innings.
Cali Christopher went 2-for-4 with a triple for Liberty, which got a three-run double from Jessica Meza. Breanna Alvarez earned the win and provided a two-run double for the Patriots.
Gennie Simington was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to lead Green Valley.
Rancho 9, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Sam Pochop tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts, one walk and no earned runs, and went 4-for-5 at the plate to power the Rams by the Skyhawks.
Gianna Carosone smacked a three-run home run in the first inning for Rancho, which also got a solo homer from Katerina Anthony in the fifth inning.
Alezandria Guariglia and Dalyse Whiteside each supplied two hits to pace Silverado.
Palo Verde 11, Arbor View 1 — At Palo Verde, Richmond Garcia belted a two-run home run in the third inning, and teammate Cara Beatty smacked a two-run homer in the sixth to power the Panthers past the Aggies in six innings.
Ally Snelling was 3-for-4 and scored the game-ending run on a triple by Makena Martin for Palo Verde, which had 14 hits.
Beatty finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs for the Panthers, who got a complete game in the circle from Kendall Hopkins.
Taylor Beaman, Adriana Thomason and Hannah Hickstein each had two hits for Arbor View.
Centennial 15, Legacy 0 — At Centennial, Brianna Benoit, Amanda Sink and Kiana Tate each had two RBIs, and the Bulldogs routed the Longhorns in three innings.
Abby Hanley allowed one hit and struck out five to earn the win and added two hits for Centennial, which scored 10 runs in the first inning.
Rhea Paiva and Skyler Ball also had two hits apiece for Centennial.
Shadow Ridge 17, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Cimarron, the Mustangs scored 13 runs in the second inning en route to the three-inning victory over the Spartans.
Alisha Schultz had three hits and two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.
Durango 11, Spring Valley 1 — At Durango, Keely Thompson went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and Destiny Cisneros added a solo home run as the Trailblazers upended the Grizzlies in five innings.
Trinity Valentine spun a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and Avahly Geraldo supplied a double for Durango.
Desert Oasis 16, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jada Moreno went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, and Holly Severance pitched three innings of hitless ball in the Diamondacks’ three-inning win over the Chargers.
Severance, who struck out four and walked one, also finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Ruby Martinez had three hits and two RBIs, and Makayla Rickard had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Desert Oasis, which led 14-0 after two innings.
Jaid Raval also doubled for the Diamondbacks.
Sierra Vista 15, Bonanza 0 — At Sierra Vista, Kalei Watkins went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and five RBIs, and Ryan Watkins hit a grand slam in the Mountain Lions’ four-inning victory over the Bengals.
Mia Buranamontri and Taylore Edwards each went 2-for-2 with a triple, and Rosalia Nakayama went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored for Sierra Vista.
Calvary Chapel 27-25, Mountain View 17-15 — At Calvary Chapel, Krya Cornelson had a grand slam, a two-run home run and six RBIs to help the Lions win the first game of a doubleheader against the Saints.
Lexi Davis went 3-for-5 with a double for Calvary Chapel in the opener.
In the nightcap, Alyssa Garcia went 4-for-5 with a double, and Kaitlyn Harris went 3-for-4 with an RBI to help the Lions earn the sweep.
Angelica Dator was 3-for-3 for Mountain View in the second game.
