SOFTBALL: Late errors allow Spartans to edge Longhorns

Sarah Murphy scored the winning run on an error with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday as Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team rallied past visiting Legacy, 4-3.

With Cimarron trailing 3-2, Alexa Snyder led off the bottom of the seventh with an infield single and moved to second on an error. Tasha Rasmussen’s one-out sacrifice bunt moved Snyder to third before Murphy drew a walk on a 3-2 pitch.

Rebecca Johnson singled to center field to plate Snyder with the tying run and move Murphy to second. Carmen Hasbrouck then reached on an error, allowing Murphy to come around to score.

Johnson homered in the first inning for the Spartans.

Snyder tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven.

Bishop Gorman 9, Desert Oasis 8 — At Gorman, Megan Coyle had two doubles and an RBI, and Shelby Estocado and Jasmine Gibson each added two hits as the Gaels nipped the Diamondbacks.

Estocado drove in three runs for Gorman, which used a four-run sixth inning to take a 9-7 lead.

Shonda Badayos had a two-run home run and an RBI double, and Meagan Anders contributed a homer and three RBIs for Desert Oasis, which also got two hits and an RBI from Karly Severance.

Centennial 12, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Maddie Jones tossed a five-inning two-hitter and struck out three as the Bulldogs topped the Bengals.

Savannah Horvath was 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Centennial.

Coronado 11, Basic 1 — At Coronado, Jaiden Johnson went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and the Cougars scored seven runs in the first inning on their way to a five-inning win over the Wolves.

Katie Dawson went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Basia Query was 2-for-4 for Coronado. Danielle Amato tossed a four-hitter and struck out eight for the Cougars.

Paige Blake was 2-for-3 and scored Basic’s run.

Foothill 12, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Hannah Stevens and Kelsey McFarland each went 4-for-5 as the Falcons routed the Dragons in five innings.

Sarah Maddox added two doubles for Foothill, which scored nine runs in the first inning.

Alina Marruffo was 2-for-2 for Del Sol.

Liberty 20, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Jenn Story doubled twice and drove in three runs, and Karly Dinkel fired a three-hit shutout as the Patriots routed the Sundevils in five innings.

Marisa Olmos tripled for Liberty, which led 15-0 after three innings.

Mojave 7, Clark 5 — At Mojave, Terren Vinson went 4-for-4 with two doubles, and Vanessa Rojas was 4-for-4 with a double as the Rattlers got past the Chargers.

Danette Daguiar went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for Mojave, which trailed 5-3 before scoring a single run in both the fourth and fifth innings and two runs in the sixth.

Pahrump Valley 5, Western 0 — At Pahrump, Whitney Roderick and Amanda Pryor combined on a one-hitter as the Trojans blanked the Warriors.

Roderick struck out seven in four innings.

Kristal Kaiwi and Lauren Koenig each had a double and a single for Pahrump.

Pahranagat Valley 16, Calvary Chapel 1 — At Calvary Chapel, Jamie Hansen, Madison Harris and Merinna Scott each hit a two-run home run in the third inning as the Panthers downed the Lions in four innings.

Traci Strong and Harris each went 2-for-2, and teammate Kennedy Huntsman spun a one-hitter for Pahranagat Valley.

Lincoln County 24-15, Mountain View 1-5 — At Panaca, Aspen Wilkin tossed a five-inning one-hitter in the opener, and Chelsea Lloyd followed with a five-inning one-hitter in the nightcap as the Lynx swept the Saints.

Lloyd went 4-for-5 with a home run and a double, and Kaylee Teel homered in the opener for Lincoln County, which also got six RBIs from Tanji Tibbitts.

In the second game, Easton Tingey hit a two-run homer, and Teel and Bailey Free each had two hits and two RBIs for the Lynx.

Indian Springs 12-13, Tonopah 11-7 — At Indian Springs, Caroline Stark and Asha Fisher each had three hits in the nightcap as the Thunderbirds swept the Muckers.

Sydney Mallory had two hits in the first game for Indian Springs, which overcame a 6-4 deficit in the opener and a 4-0 deficit in the second game.

Sydney Maughan had two hits in the opener, and Julia Klapper doubled twice in the nightcap for Tonopah.
