SOFTBALL: Madelynn Kennedy leads Cheyenne past Chaparral

Madelynn Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Cheyenne’s softball team to a 6-4 win at Chaparral on Thursday.
Kennedy also picked up the win after franning six over the final four innings. Jonnette Paddy was 2-for-4 for the Desert Shields, who led 3-0 after three innings.
Losi Brown struck out 10 in a losing effort for the Cowboys.
Mojave 10, Moapa Valley 6 — At Overton, Anastasia Evans went 3-for-5 with a triple to help the Rattlers top the Pirates.
Essence McRae went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run for Mojave, which led 7-3 after three innings.
Sierra Harding went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple for Moapa Valley.
Sierra Vista 7, Desert Oasis 1 — At Sierra Vista, Kalei Watkins doubled and drove in three runs to lead the Mountain Lions past the Diamondbacks.
Watkins also picked up the win, allowing one run on six hits with six strikeouts.
Jessica Schneider also doubled for the Mountain Lions. Mia Buranamontri went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Rosalia Nakayama went 2-for-4 for Sierra Vista.
Rancho 10, Green Valley 0 — At Rancho, Sam Pochop tossed a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and added two hits at the plate as the Rams blanked the Gators.
Yvette Sanchez and Lorena De La Torre each had two hits and an RBI for Rancho, which got two hits and two RBIs from Ayanna Potter.
Savannah Fabro had two hits to pace Green Valley.
Bishop’s School (Calif.) 12, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Bishop Gorman, Darian Pancirov doubled, but the Gaels lost in six innings to the Knights.
Bishop’s School, which scored four runs in the first and three runs in the second, finished with 15 hits.
Livy Schiele was 4-for-5 with two triples, a homer and three RBIs to lead the Knights.
Las Vegas 13, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Sarina Ramirez, Melina Fabian and Kaitlyn Horstdaniel each had two hits and two RBIs to help the Wildcats top the Sundevils.
Fabian scored four runs, and Ramirez scored three for Las Vegas. Arienn Ackerman added a double and three RBIs, and Sabrina Saldate had two hits and three runs for the Wildcats.
Angelina Visitacion threw a two-hitter with four strikeouts to get the win.
Pahrump Valley 17, Tech 2 — At Tech, Skyler Lauver went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs as the Trojans routed the Roadrunners in four innings.
Jordan Egan went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs for Pahrump. Jackie Stobbe supplied two hits and two RBIs for the Trojans.
Avery Rayos finished 2-for-2 with a triple to lead Tech.
Spring Valley 22, Clark 2 — At Clark, Marlena Adras pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs as the Grizzlies downed the Chargers in four innings.
Spring Valley scored 11 runs in the fourth inning.
Meya Cohn added two doubles and three RBIs for Spring Valley.
Mackenzie Norsworthy added a triple and two RBIs for the Grizzlies, who trailed 2-1 after the first inning.
Madison Aja singled for Clark.
Del Sol 23, Desert Pines 3 — At Del Sol, Angel Jones had two walks and three RBIs, and the Dragons scored 18 runs in the first inning en route to a three-inning victory over the Jaguars.
Selena Erickson was 2-for-2 with a double, and Jeanette Poulsen and Noa Bowie each had a double for Del Sol.
Pamela Cruz and Ayanna Johnson each doubled for Desert Pines.
Virgin Valley 14, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Mesquite, Taylor Ostrowski had two hits to help the Bulldogs rout the Miners in five innings.
Foothill 12, Moorpark (Calif.) 1 — At Torrance, California, Sadie Christian went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs as the Falcons beat the Musketeers in five innings in the National Tournament.
Caitlyn Stevenson went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Skylar Glaude was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Foothill. Katelyn Enzweiler went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and three runs for the Falcons.
Leah Becker went the distance, allowing one run on four hits, to get the win.
Golden Valley (Calif.) 3, Foothill 2 — At Torrance, California, the Grizzlies benefited from an error in the bottom of the eleventh inning to earn a walk-off victory over the Falcons in the National Tournament.
Enzweiler and Stevenson each drove in a run for Foothill, which had one-run leads after the ninth and 10th innings.
Kayla King pitched a complete game for Foothill.
Golden Valley pitcher Cassidy Cangemi went the distance and struck out 22 to get the win.
Centennial 1, Coronado (Texas) 0 — At Torrance, California, Amanda Sink tossed a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts to help the Bulldogs top Coronado in the National Tournament.
Sink threw 13 first-pitch strikes and finished with three walks.
Makenzie Ball had an RBI single in the first inning for Centennial.
Centennial 3, Los Altos (Calif.) 2 — At Torrance, California, Haylee Lupinetti was 3-for-3, including a two-out RBI single i the top of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie as the Bulldogs topped Los Altos in the National Tournament.
Lupinetti also struck out five in 4⅓ innings.
Jaden Tate had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, and Kiana Tate had a solo home run for Centennial.
Deanna Barrera pitched 1⅔ innings of relief to earn the win for the Bulldogs.
Palo Verde 8, Piedra Vista (N.M.) 0 — At Torrance, California, Jessica Hopkins struck out 12 in five shutout innings to lead the Panthers to the victory in the National Tournament.
Hopkins allowed one hit and two walks.
Mackenzie Ryan went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Palo Verde offense. Jessica Nimmo was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Ally Snelling was 2-for-3 with a double for the Panthers.
Lauryn Barker and Makena Martin each added two hits for the Panthers.
Palo Verde 6, Banning (Calif.) 3 — At Torrance, California, Cara Beatty went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs as the Panthers defeated the Pilots in six innings at the National Tournament.
Makall Whetten was 2-for-4 with a triple, and Snelling went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Palo Verde.
Taylor Askland went the distance, allowing two earned runs on two hits with six strikeouts, to get the win.
Basic 12, Jefferson (Texas) 3 — At Torrance, California, Jordan Stinnett tossed a six-hitter with six strikeouts to lead the Wolves past Jefferson.
Lexie Edmunds had two hits and two RBIs, and Lauren Koshak added two RBIs for Basic, which led 10-1 after two innings.
Frontier (Calif.) 10, Basic 0 — At Torrance, California, the Titans blanked the Wolves in six innings in the National Tournament.
Coronado 13, Jefferson (Texas) 0 — At Torrance, California, the Tatum Spangler threw a one-hitter as the Cougars earned the five-inning win in the National Tournament.
Spangler struck out 11 and also had three hits and four RBIs for Coronado.
Taylor Okamura added three hits and two RBIs, and Ashley Ward had two hits and drove in two runs for the Cougars.
Coronado 9, Frontier (Calif.) 5 — At Torrance, California, winning pitcher Ward drove in four runs and struck out eight in four innings to lead the Cougars to a five-inning victory in the National Tournament.
Okamura added three RBIs, and Spangler had two hits for Coronado.
