SOFTBALL: Marleena Mills drives in five, leads Boulder City past Moapa Valley

Marleena Mills went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs to power Boulder City’s softball team to an 11-2 home win over Moapa Valley on Tuesday.

Jordan Moorhead was 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for the Eagles, who had 13 hits. Boulder City improved to 7-0 in the Class 3A Sunrise League and now has a two-game lead over the Pirates for first place.

Bailey Bennett-Jordan went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Eagles. Bennett-Jordan also went the distance and allowed one earned run on five hits to get the win. She struck out six with no walks.

Sierra Harding was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for Moapa Valley.

Basic 11, Silverado 7 — At Silverado, Mikayla Berg went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, and the Wolves scored three runs in the seventh inning to outlast the Skyhawks.

Lexie Edmunds finished 3-for-4, and teammate Alyssa Ferguson added two hits for Basic. Shelby Basso struck out eight in 6⅔ innings of relief to earn the win for the Wolves.

Megan Johnson was 2-for-4 with a solo home run, and Lorina Franklin supplied two hits to lead Silvarado.

Shadow Ridge 9, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Faith Lutheran, Cierra Davis was 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to power the Mustangs past the Crusaders.

Jasmine Martin was 2-for-2 with a double, a homer, two runs and two RBIs for Shadow Ridge.

Alisha Schultz spun a four-hitter with three strikeouts and four walks to get the win. Schultz also went 3-for-5.

Sierra Vista 10, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Sierra Vista, Kalei Watkins fired a two-hitter and struck out 10 as the Mountain Lions topped the Gaels in five innings.

Watkins also went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Taylore Edwards was 3-for-3 with a double and four runs, and Jazmyn Martinez was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mountain Lions.

Tech 10, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Gizele Cascos fired a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and drove in two runs to lead the Roadrunners past the Bulldogs in six innings.

Avery Rayos went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Haylee Makue-Vasconellos and Katy Orellana each had two hits for Tech.

The Roadrunners had nine hits and took advantage of 10 Virgin Valley errors.

Chaparral 11, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Sierra Shaw finished 3-for-4 with a double and a home run as the Cowboys routed the Dragons in five innings.

Fernanda Rivas was 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Berenise Ibanez went 3-for-3 for Chaparral.

Selena Erickson supplied an RBI double for Del Sol.

Arbor View 26, Cimarron-Memorial 16 — At Cimarron, Taylor Beamon was 5-for-6 with three doubles, a three-run home run, four runs, and six RBIs, and teammate Brittany Henricksen went 5-for-5 with two doubles, a two-run homer, three runs and four RBIs as the Aggies outslugged the Spartans.

Bryce Henricksen finished 5-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs, and Taylor Thomas was 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and four runs for Arbor View.

Kayla Rutledge added three hits, including a two-run homer, and earned the win in relief for the Aggies.

Mya’Lea Bathea went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run for Cimarron. Diona Whitley, Angie Chin and Tiarra Del Rosario each had three hits for the Spartans.

Bonanza 22, Clark 4 — At Clark, Sara Riley was 4-for-5 with four doubles and four RBIs as the Bengals routed the Chargers in four innings.

Brianna Hernandez-Silva was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs, Carla LaRosa was 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs and Evalynn Sandoval went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs for Bonanza.

Ashley Kersey was 2-for-2 with a double, four runs and two RBIs, and Brooke Detommaso went 2-for-3 with a run and three RBIs for the Bengals.

Detommaso went the distance and struck out 10 to get the win.

Sharon Vernaz went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs to lead Clark.

Sofia Argumaniz, Taylor Roberts and Katlynn Avila each went 2-for-3 for the Chargers.

Coronado 15, Eldorado 0 — At Coronado, Erica Hardy went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs, and Dylan Underwood was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help power the Cougars to a four-inning rout of the Sundevils.

Sophia McCann went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Coronado, which scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Mariana Maldonado hit a triple for Eldorado.

Palo Verde 19, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Makena Martin was 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs and pitched a two-hitter to help the Panthers to the three-inning victory.

Martin struck out seven with one walk.

Jenna Haidet went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs, and Makall Whetten was 2-for-2 with a solo homer for Palo Verde. McKenzie Ryan and Ally Snelling each went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for the Panthers.

Liberty 18, Canyon Springs 1 — At Canyon Springs, Morgan LaNeve went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run, and Jessica Meza threw a three-inning no-hitter as the Patriots routed the Pioneers.

Marisa Olmos was 2-for-3 with a triple and five RBIs for Liberty. Kylie Hefley had a double and two RBIs, and Meza hit a run-scoring triple for Liberty, which scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning.

Green Valley 16, Valley 0 — At Valley, Tyre Hilton went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to help the Gators rout the Vikings in three innings.

Sierra Miranda tripled for the Gators.

Las Vegas 14, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Angelina Visitacion tossed a five-hit shutout with eight strikeouts as the Wildcats blanked the Grizzlies in five innings.

Nicole Forrest was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Las Vegas, which had a six-run fourth inning to pull away. Melina Fabian finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, and teammate Summer Horn supplied two hits for the Wildcats.

Chryshelle Abril-Ryan was 3-for-3 for Spring Valley.

Needles 19, Laughlin 0 — At Laughlin, Brenna Chavez went 4-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs to lead the Mustangs to the four-inning win over the Cougars.

Kourtney Fletcher spun a no-hitter with eight strikeouts to get the win.

Fletcher was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs for Needles, and Bruke Zozaya added a two-run homer for the Mustangs.

Foothill at Rancho — The game between the Falcons and Rams was postponed because of unsafe field conditions.
