SOFTBALL: Miners’ Garner no-hits Chaparral

Sunrise Mountain’s Andrea Garner threw a five-inning no-hitter Monday to lead the Miners to a 13-0 home victory over Chaparral.

Garner struck out eight and walked two. She also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Areionna Herrera was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Sunrise Mountain offense. Solangel Gamez went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and teammate Jazmin Pedraza was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Miners.

Liberty 6, Green Valley 3 — At Green Valley, Kylie Hefley was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Patriots over the Gators.

Breanna Alvarez had two RBIs and two stolen bases, and McKenna Hefley went 2-for-4 with two doubles for Liberty. Morgan LaNeve went 2-for-3 for the Patriots.

Tyre Hilton, Samantha Loving and Allie Lamb each had a double and an RBI for Green Valley. Alexa Blazek was 2-for-3 for the Gators.

Tech 14, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Ashlee Carratelli and Gizele Cascos combined on a five-inning perfect game as the Roadrunners routed the Jaguars.

Haylee Makue-Vasconcellos was 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBIs, and Avery Rayos went 3-for-3 with a double and four runs for Tech.

Rancho 18, Valley 5 — At Rancho, Gianna Carasone was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs as the Rams defeated the Vikings in five innings.

Brenda Meza was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Jazmin Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rams. Katerina Anthony pitched three innings for the win, allowing two hits and striking out five.

Marissa Espinoza hit a triple for Valley.

Silverado 9, Eldorado 5 — At Eldorado, Megan Johnson was 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Skyhawks past the Sundevils.

Jazmine Sorchini went 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Eldorado.

Basic 25, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Lexie Edmunds threw a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Wolves routed the Pioneers in five innings.

Edmunds was one out away from throwing a perfect game when she yielded a walk and a single to the next two batters.

Happy Butler went 3-for-5 with a double and five RBIs to lead the Basic offense. Sanoe Helenini and Lauren Powell each went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, and Angela Santiallanes hit a home run for the Wolves.

Boulder City 15, Virgin Valley 5 — At Boulder City, Kylee Hamel drove in four runs to help the Eagles to the five-inning victory over the Bulldogs.

Winning pitcher Charlene Masterson drove in three runs and struck out seven in three innings. Jordan Moorhead had three hits, and teammate Jerra Hinson added two RBIs for the Eagles.

Janella Fiso had two hits for Virgin Valley.

Moapa Valley 20, Del Sol 1 — At Overton, winning pitcher Mercedes Gale went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs to help the Pirates to the five-inning win over the Dragons.

Devony Cooper also went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs, and Kessa Evans was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for Moapa Valley, which scored 14 runs in the second inning.

Aria Messer also homered for the Pirates.

Alina Marruffo was 3-for-3 for Del Sol.
