SOFTBALL: Navarro’s single gives Bulldogs win over Panthers

Gizelle Navarro’s single down the left-field line with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday scored Janella Fiso with the winning run as Virgin Valley’s softball team rallied for a 6-5 home win over Pahranagat Valley.

Emma Barnum was 3-for-3 for the Bulldogs, who gave up two runs in the top of the seventh, but scored three in the bottom of the inning to pull out the win.

Palo Verde 7, Coronado 6 — At Coronado, the Panthers threw out the potential tying run at the plate to end the game and preserve the win over the Cougars.

Basia Query tripled, but was thrown out trying to score on the play.

Palo Verde’s Makall Whetten went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Grace Chavez was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Panthers.

Desert Oasis 18, Durango 8 — At Desert Oasis, Meagan Anders went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs to help the Diamondbacks top the Trailblazers in six innings.

Karly Severance went 2-for-3 with two doubles for Desert Oasis.

Durango’s Mallory Lawson was 3-for-4 with two doubles, and teammate Kaitlyn O’Hearn went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Foothill 11, Silverado 3 — At Foothill, Daryan Meade went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs to lead the Falcons past the Skyhawks.

Kaitlyn Enzweiler and Jasmine Dukes each tripled and drove in two runs for Foothill.

Gabby Santiago doubled and had an RBI for Silverado.

Etiwanda (Calif.) 10, Foothill 4 — At Foothill, Hailey Freeman had four hits, including a double, and two RBIs to lead the Eagles by the Falcons.

Vanessa Taukeiaho homered and doubled for Etiwanda.

Kylie Becker had two RBIs for Foothill.

Cheyenne 15, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Cheyenne, Taylor Cole went 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs as the Desert Shields downed the Trojans in five innings.

Alexis Gojkovich went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and four RBIs, and Sabrina Stafford went 3-4 with two RBIs for Cheyenne.

Bonanza 13, Del Sol 8 — At Del Sol, Caitlyn Lloyd had two doubles and three RBIs, and the Bengals scored 10 runs in the first inning en route to a win over the Dragons.

Nikki Zuniga was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Del Sol.

Sierra Vista 15, Western 1 — At Western, Kalei Watkins and Harmony Dominguez combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Mountain Lions topped the Warriors.

Sierra Vista used a six-run second inning and an eight-run third to pull away.

Boulder City 14, Eldorado 4 — At Eldorado, Bryanna Lopez had two hits and two RBIs, and the Eagles used a 10-run fourth inning to defeat the Sundevils in five innings.

Micayla Gegen and Lily Osman each added two hits for Boulder City.

Jazmine Sorchini had two RBIs for Eldorado.

Faith Lutheran 13, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Makena Martin spun a three-hitter and went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs to lead the Crusaders by the Rattlers in five innings.

Cheyenne Kidd was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs, and Samantha Jack went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, two RBIs for Faith Lutheran.

Janysa Trujillo was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Mojave.

Spring Valley 17, Clark 1 — At Spring Valley, Madison Hood pitched a one-hitter and went 3-for-3 with two RBIs as the Grizzles routed the Chargers in five innings.

Hood struck out seven with two walks.

Ellie Endsley went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Michaela Hood was 2-for-3 with two triples and three RBIs for Spring Valley.

Lincoln County 12-24, Calvary Chapel 4-3 — At West Flamingo Park, Easton Tingey went 3-for-4 with a home run, triple and three RBIs in the opener and drove in three runs in the nightcap as the Lynx swept a doubleheader from the Lions.

Chesnee Harding was 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBIs, and Cameron Lloyd also homered in the first game for Lincoln County.

Kia Phillips and Aspen Wilkin each drove in two runs in the second game for the Lynx, who scored 12 runs in the second inning.

Meghan Phillips had a run-scoring triple in the opener and went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the second game for Calvary Chapel. Justyne Boggio also drove in a run for the Lions in the nightcap.

Laughlin 16-20, Agassi Prep 20-8 — At Doolittle Park, Precious Osuna was 5-for-5 with a double, a triple, four runs and four RBIs in the second game to help the Cougars earn a split with the Stars.

Laughlin trailed 7-4 in the second game before scoring 10 runs in the fifth to take the lead.

In the first game, the Cougars led 10-1 after three innings before Agassi Prep rallied. Osuna went 2-for-5 with a triple in the first game.
