SOFTBALL: O’Hearn, Boyce boost Trailblazers

Kaitlyn O’Hearn hit a grand slam in the sixth inning Friday to help Durango’s softball team to an 11-3 victory at Basic.

Dallas Boyce was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Tori Ray was 2-for-4 with two doubles for the Trailblazers.

Boyce tossed a five-hitter and struck out 10.

Bailey Cunanan was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Wolves.

Arbor View 12, Cimarron-Memorial 9 — At Cimarron, Danielle Sheridan went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs as the Aggies held off the Spartans.

Kellie Anderson was 2-for-3, and Ashlyn Ames homered and drove in three runs for Arbor View.

Carmen Hasbrouck was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, and Sarah Murphy went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for Cimarron.

Rosie Del Rosario was 2-for-4 with two triples, and Alexa Snyder went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Spartans.

Silverado 15, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Arieana Monturio went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs to lead the Skyhawks past the Dragons in five innings.

Madison Sisco also went 2-for-2 to help Silverado, which scored six runs in the first inning.

Allison Harper tossed a four-hitter for the Skyhawks.

Faith Lutheran 21, Chaparral 8 — At Chaparral, Lili Bonora was 3-for-3 with a triple, four runs and three RBIs as the Crusaders routed the Cowboys.

Bri Yee was 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs for Faith Lutheran.

Vanessa Donham went 3-for-3 with two runs for Chaparral.

Tech 17, Canyon Springs 4 — At Canyon Springs, the Roadrunners took advantage of 16 walks to cruise past the Pioneers in five innings.

Kimmie Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Tech.

Ciera Berkemeyer went 2-for-3 with a triple for Canyon Springs, and teammate Ruth Lobato went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Foothill 5, Redondo Union (Calif.) 4 — At Torrance, Calif., Sarah Maddox’s two-run single helped the Falcons nip the Sea Hawks in six innings in the Torrance National Tournament.

Jordan Corn singled and doubled for Foothill, which trailed 4-0 entering the fourth inning.

Bishop Gorman 10, Stockdale (Calif.) 7 — At Torrance, Calif., Shelby Estocado was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a homer, four RBIs and three runs to lead the Gaels to the win in the Torrance National Tournament.

Carrie Keller went 2-for-3 for Gorman, which scored eight runs in the third inning.

Green Valley 5, Central Union (Calif.) 2 — At Torrance, Calif., Samantha Loving tossed a three-hitter with five strikeouts and went 3-for-3 with two doubles to lead the Gators in the Torrance National Tournament.

Fenixx Henderson went 2-for-3, and Maggie Manwarren was 2-for-4 for Green Valley, which got a two-run double from Autumn Owens.

Salem Hills (Utah) 3, Coronado 0 — At Torrance, Calif., the Skyhawks scored a run in the second and two in the third to top the Cougars in the Torrance National Tournament.

Danielle Amato and Basia Query each went 2-for-3 for Coronado.

Cheyenne 13, Virgin Valley 7 — At Mesquite, Brittany Leeds went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Desert Shields by the Bulldogs in a five-inning game in the Desert Winds Tournament.

Courtney Gain was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Cheyenne.

Emma Barnum was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Virgin Valley.

Cheyenne 12, Moapa Valley 9 — At Mesquite, Destiny Gain went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and four RBIs to help the Desert Shields top the Pirates in a five-inning game in the Desert Winds Tournament.

Alyssa Fata, Jonnette Paddy and Sabrina Stafford all went 2-for-2 for Cheyenne.

Bailey Owens was 2-for-2, and Makayla Jackson and Haley Nielsen each went 2-for-4 for Moapa Valley.

Shadow Ridge 10, Cheyenne 1 — At Mesquite, the Mustangs limited the Desert Shields to two hits in a five-inning win in the Desert Winds Tournament.

Aquinas (Calif.) 5, Cheyenne 0 — At Mesquite, Allie Hotetz tossed a perfect game, striking out 17 of the 21 hitters she faced, as the Falcons topped the Desert Shields in the Desert Winds Tournament.

Erica Almaraz’s second-inning solo home run gave the Falcons the lead.

Pahranagat Valley 10-9, Tonopah 9-8 — At Alamo, Madison Harris’ three-run, inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the seventh inning of the opener helped the Panthers sweep the Muckers.

Jamie Hansen went 2-for-2 with a RBI in the opener for the Panthers.

Sandra Dunn tripled twice and had four RBIs for the Muckers.

In the nightcap, Merinna Scott’s run-scoring single with one out in the bottom of the seventh finished the sweep for Pahranagat Valley.

Hansen was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs, and Alyson Egbert was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs for the Panthers. Traci Strong added a home run and a double for Pahranagat Valley.

Julia Klapper went 4-for-4 with two home runs and two RBIs for the Muckers. Megan Donham also went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBIs, and Sydney Maughan went 3-for-4 for the Muckers.

Desert Oasis vs. Liberty — Desert Oasis’ game at Liberty was canceled as no umpires showed up for the game.
