SOFTBALL: Otis elevates Legacy past Bengals, info fourth-place tie in Southwest

Kierra Otis scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday as Legacy’s softball team moved into a tie for fourth place in the Southwest League with an 11-10 win over visiting Bonanza.
The Longhorns are tied with Desert Oasis for the league’s final playoff spot and visit the Diamondbacks in the regular-season finale on Wednesday.
Otis was 3-for-4 with three runs scored for Legacy, which got two doubles from Kiani Elia-Mendiola.
Caitlyn Lloyd went 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run, four runs and two RBIs, and Megan Rabe tripled and doubled for the Bengals.
Centennial 18, Desert Oasis 0 — At Centennial, Heather Bowen hit for the cycle, including a second-inning grand slam, as the Bulldogs routed the Diamondbacks.
Bowen was 4-for-4 with six RBIs, and teammate Savannah Horvath went 3-for-3 with five RBIs, including a pair of second-inning homers, as Centennial used a 13-run inning to put the game away.
Taylor Huntly tossed a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and Madison Henzlik went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Centennial. Alyssa Finger was 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Bulldogs.
Bishop Gorman 16, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron, Jasmine Gibson was 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, three runs and four RBIs as the Gaels downed the Spartans.
Shelby Estocado was 4-for-5 with two doubles, and Alexandria Gordon went 4-for-5 with a double for Gorman, which got a triple and a double from Ashley Witucki.
Sarina Creswell went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs, and Kayla Simmers was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Cimarron.
Coronado 18, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Brooke Younie tossed a five-inning three-hitter and had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Cougars by the Sundevils.
Jaiden Johnson was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for Coronado.
Liberty 20, Del Sol 1 — At Liberty, Jessica Santana had two hits and three RBIs, and the Patriots used a pair of 10-run innings to rout the Dragons in five innings.
Felicia Rivera added a triple and four RBIs, and Rebecca Freer had two hits for Liberty, which got two RBIs apiece from Kennedy Courtney and Jenn Story.
Boulder City 13, Tech 3 — At Boulder City, Kasey Ochoa went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as the Eagles wrapped up the outright Sunrise League title by beating the Roadrunners in five innings.
Jessica Holling went 2-for-3, and Alyssa Ybarra was 2-for-4 for Boulder City.
Jordyn Roark was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Kimmie Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Tech.
Moapa Valley 13, Sunrise Mountain 11 — At Overton, Linna Hernandez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to help the Pirates edge the Miners.
Liz Robertson had a triple and scored a run, and Leah Bradbury had two RBIs for the Pirates.
Sydni Beuchat went 2-for-4 for the Miners.
Foothill 15, Basic 5 — At Foothill, McKenna King went 1-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI as the Falcons routed the Wolves in five innings.
Palmer Bosanko tripled and had three RBIs for the Falcons.
Cheyenne 32, Desert Pines 4 — At Desert Pines, Taylor Perez was 6-for-6 with a triple, five runs and five RBIs as the Desert Shields blitzed the Jaguars in five innings.
Alyssa Fata was 5-for-6 with a double and four runs, and Vanessa Sanders was 3-for-5 with a double for Cheyenne. Mireya Gonzalez went 2-for-4 for the Desert Shields.
Brenda Alvarado was 2-for-3 with two doubles for Desert Pines.
Chaparral 16, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Nicole Lesniak spun a three-hitter and went 4-for-4 with two home runs and a double as the Cowboys downed the Bulldogs in five innings.
Lauren Lesniak added three hits for Chaparral.
