SOFTBALL: Pullen, Sheehan combine to shut out Sundevils

Becca Pullen and Kawena Sheehan combined on a four-hitter Wednesday to lead Basic’s softball team to a 5-0 win at Eldorado.
Jessica Pittman went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs for the Wolves.
Brook Ortiz led the Sundevils with two hits.
Coronado 19, Del Sol 0 — At Coronado, Jaiden Johnson fired a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts, and the Cougars defeated the Dragons in five innings.
Johnson also went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Danielle Amato was 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs, and Brooke Younie was 2-for-2 and drove in three runs.
Foothill 4, Liberty 1 — At Foothill, Aricia Dami went the distance, scattering nine hits, to lead the Falcons over the Patriots.
Dami also tripled for Foothill, which had just five hits.
Chaparral 14, Moapa Valley 6 — At Overton, Lauren Lesniak went 5-for-5, and Cheyenne Huntsman had a double and three RBIs as the Cowboys downed the Pirates.
Nicole Lesniak and Maritza Velasco each added two hits for Chaparral.
Moapa Valley’s Bailey Owens went 2-for-4 with a double, and Hanna Leavitt had two hits for the Pirates.
Bishop Gorman 16, Bonanza 3 — At Gorman, Jasmine Gibson went 2-for-2 with a double, a home run and two RBIs to help the Gaels to the five-inning win over the Bengals.
Alexandria Gordon was 3-for-3 with a double, and Sierra Mark was 2-for-3 with a double for Gorman, which scored nine runs in the third and finished with 18 hits.
Caitlyn Lloyd was 2-for-3 with a double for Bonanza.
Cimarron-Memorial 12, Desert Oasis 1 — At Cimarron, Sarah Murphy smacked a grand slam and finished with five RBIs as the Spartans routed the Diamondbacks in five innings.
Sarina Cresswell doubled twice and drove in two runs for Cimarron.
Centennial 10, Legacy 0 — At Centennial, Cheyenne Cudahy allowed one hit and fanned six as the Bulldogs blanked the Longhorns in five innings.
Lacie Chakos was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Alyssa Finger finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Centennial.
Tech 19, Desert Pines 0 — At Tech, Joyann Smith tossed a three-hitter as the Roadrunners routed the Jaguars in five innings.
Emmalynne Laymon had three hits, three runs and an RBI, and Austyn Dziewit and Kimmie Rodriguez each supplied two hits and an RBI for Tech.
Nicole Medrano had two hits for Desert Pines.
Sunrise Mountain 16, Virgin Valley 6 — At Mesquite, Andrea Garner tossed an eight-hitter, and the Miners scored eight runs in the fifth inning on their way to a six-inning win over the Bulldogs.
Boulder City 9, Indian Springs 0 — At Indian Springs, Mikaela Brown tossed a four-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts, and the Eagles scored five times in the third inning en route to a victory over the Thunderbirds.
Brown was also 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
