SOFTBALL: Rauskin, Bulldogs shut down Mustangs

Kate Rauskin tossed a six-hitter with nine strikeouts Friday to lead host Centennial’s softball team to a 4-1 win over Shadow Ridge.

Savannah Horvath was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs, and Alyssa Finger went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Madison Henzlik was 2-for-3 with a double for Centennial.

Marisa Miano went 3-for-4 for the Mustangs.

Palo Verde 12, Durango 4 — At Palo Verde, Rachel Williams went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs to help the Panthers push past the Trailblazers.

Breanna Beatty went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Dejanae Gage went 2-for-4 with a double for the Panthers.

Kaitlyn O’Hearn went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Durango.

Arbor View 8, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Ashlyn Ames went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs and tossed a three-hitter with seven strikeouts to power the Aggies over the Gators.

Karli Lehr went 4-for-4 with three runs and an RBI and Ke’Anna Kamaka went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Aggies.

Chaparral 9, Valley 6 — At Chaparral, Nicole Lesniak tossed a six-hitter with 11 strikeouts and went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the Cowboys by the Vikings.

Tichina Savoy was 2-for-3 and scored two runs for Chaparral.

Foothill 8, Boulder City 4 — At Boulder City, Sarah Maddox went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lift the Falcons by the Eagles.

Jessica Holling was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and three RBIs for Boulder City.

Rancho 13, Sierra Vista 0 — At Rancho, Aly Lamboo spun a five-inning one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead the Rams past the Mountain Lions.

Brandy Marlett went 2-for-4 to help Rancho, which took control with six runs in the first inning.

Kira Felise had Sierra Vista’s lone hit in the second inning.

Cheyenne 17, Virgin Valley 6 — At Cheyenne, Vanessa Sanders was 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, and Jahnae Davis went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs as the Desert Shields routed the Bulldogs in five innings.

Brittany Leeds and Taylor Perez each went 2-for-3 for Cheyenne.

Lexi Barnum was 3-for-3 with a double for Virgin Valley.

Faith Lutheran 12, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, winning pitcher Rachel Kerr went 2-for-3, and the Crusaders scored the game’s final 12 runs to top the Miners in six innings.

Lili Bonora was 2-for-4 with a double, and Frankie Lee and Alex Wright each went 2-for-4 for Faith Lutheran.

Kialee Page was 2-for-3 for Sunrise Mountain.

Mojave 15, Del Sol 1 — At Mojave, Ashley Persico went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs to help the Rattlers down the Dragons.

Danette Daguiar went 2-for-2 with a double, three runs and two RBIs for Mojave.

Needles 15-17, The Meadows 1-0 — At Needles, Calif., Melanie Leslie-Merchain hit three doubles on the day as Needles swept a doubleheader from The Meadows.

Dakota Lillard went the distance in the opener, and Abby Chandler followed up with a shutout in the nightcap for Needles.

Calvary Chapel 11-16, Mountain View 14-6 — At West Flamingo Park, Monica Mejorada went 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs in the nightcap to help the Lions salvage a split with the Saints.

Maddison Petrelli was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Melody Brown went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Calvary Chapel in the nightcap.

Petrelli was 3-for-4 with a solo home run, and Mejorada went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the opener.

Elle Germany was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Cristin Swartz went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI to spark the Saints in the first game.

Rose Adkins was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Swartz went 2-for-3 for Mountain View in the second game.

Pahranagat Valley 16-17, Sandy Valley 6-3 — At Sandy Valley, Merinna Scott went 3-for-3 with three RBIs in the opener and 2-for-3 in the nightcap as the Panthers swept a pair of five-inning games from the Sidewinders.

In the opener, Bailee Hosier was 3-for-3 with three runs for Pahranagat Valley.

Kennedy Huntsman was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Randi Jones was 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in the finale for the Panthers.

Sandy Valley’s Nyesha Carter went 2-for-3 in the opener, and teammates Sarah Rinehart and Hunter Gonzales each went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the nightcap.

Indian Springs 11-11, Tonopah 9-5 — At Indian Springs, the Thunderbirds swept the Muckers in a doubleheader.

Hannah Thormahlen went 3-for-4 with a double, two triples and two RBIs to lead Indian Springs in the first game.

Heather Thormahlen, who earned both victories, highlighted the nightcap by going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs.
