SOFTBALL: Rauskin’s gem helps Bulldogs wrap up Southwest title

Kate Rauskin spun a three-hitter with four strikeouts Wednesday as Centennial’s softball team wrapped up the Southwest League title with an 8-0 win at Bishop Gorman.

Taylor Huntly belted a two-run home run in the first inning as the Bulldogs grabbed a quick 3-0 lead and never looked back.

Huntly was 2-for-4, and teammate Alyssa Finger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run.

Sierra Dias was 2-for-3 for the Gaels.

Legacy 6, Desert Oasis 2 — At Desert Oasis, Lindsey Fishman was 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run and an RBI, and the Longhorns scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to earn the Southwest League’s final playoff spot with a win over the Diamondbacks.

Alyssa Sotelo was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Legacy.

Karly Severance was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Desert Oasis.

Basic 9, Liberty 6 — At Basic, Leah Causey’s grand slam capped a seven-run second inning as the Wolves topped the Patriots.

Hailey Collins went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Kawena Sheehan was 2-for-3 for Basic.

Teuila Sheehan tossed a five-hitter for the Wolves.

Tech 23, Moapa Valley 19 — At Tech, Jamison Bascom went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs, and Jordyn Roark was 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI as the Roadrunners outslugged the Pirates.

Ashley Ramsey was 4-for-6 with two RBIs, and Emmalyn Laymon and Shannon Coggins each hit a home run for Tech.

Haley Nielson was 4-for-6 with a home run, a double and four RBIs for Moapa Valley, which also got two hits from Cymoni Cooper.

Eldorado 24, Del Sol 6 — At Del Sol, Deja Wargo went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to power the Sundevils to a six-inning win over the Dragons.

Sara Millett supplied a double, a single and four RBIs and combined with Madalyn Bonilla on a no-hitter. Millett struck out nine.

Cimarron-Memorial 21, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Carli Stafford was 3-for-4 with a home run and a double as the Spartans routed the Bengals in five innings.

Sarah Murphy went 3-for-5 with a triple, and Sarina Creswell added three hits, including two doubles, for Cimarron, which used an 11-run third inning to take control.

Stevie Southard tossed a two-hitter for the Spartans.

Boulder City 10, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Charlene Masterson fired a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and smacked a home run to lead the Eagles over the Miners in six innings.

Masterson had two RBIs for the Eagles, who managed just four hits but took advantage of eight errors by Sunrise Mountain.

Chaparral 11, Desert Pines 0 — At Chaparral, Nicole Lesniak tossed a five-inning two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a solo home run as the Cowboys blanked the Jaguars.

Sara Tucker was 3-for-3 with a double, and Lauren Lesniak went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Chaparral. Michelle Torres was 2-for-3 for the Cowboys.
