SOFTBALL: Sisco helps Skyhawks capture tournament title

Madison Sisco was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and four RBIs on Saturday to power Silverado’s softball team to a 17-7 win over Emery (Utah) in the championship game of the March Warm-Up Tournament in St. George, Utah.
Taryn Southerland was 2-for-2 with a double, a homer and five RBIs in the four-inning game.
Korina Pindel was 3-for-3, and Jessica Chamberlain had a homer and three RBIs for Silverado.
Silverado 15, Bear Lake (Idaho) 0 — At St. George, Utah, Southerland had a double and a home run as the Skyhawks earned a three-inning win to move into the final of the March Warm-Up Tournament.
Chamberlain and Heaven Calhoun also homered for the Skyhawks, who scored 13 runs in the bottom of the second.
Calhoun allowed two hits in three shutout innings to earn the win.
Silverado 17, Delta (Utah) 9 — At St. George, Utah, the Skyhawks scored nine runs in the bottom of the fourth to rally for the pool-play win in the March Warm-Up Tournament.
Arieana Monturio doubled twice for Silverado, which had 19 hits, including six doubles.
O’Connor (Ariz.) 2, Centennial 1 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Brooke Brown tossed a four-hitter to lead the Eagles by the Bulldogs in the consolation final of the Tournament of Champions.
Savannah Horvath led off the second inning with a home run for the Bulldogs, but O’Connor responded with a run in the bottom of the second and one more in the fifth for the win.
Centennial 5, Hamilton (Ariz.) 0 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Cheyenne Cudahy scattered nine hits in seven innings and struck out five to lead the Bulldogs past Hamilton in the Tournament of Champions.
Lauren Stroman belted a three-run home run in the first inning for Centennial. Horvath was 2-for-3 for the Bulldogs.
Los Alamitos (Calif.) 12, Foothill 4 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Los Alamitos scored 11 runs in the first three innings and topped the Falcons in a four-inning game in the Tournament of Champions.
Kelsey McFarland had a two-run home run for Foothill.
Foothill 14, Deer Valley (Calif.) 4 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., Sarah Maddox was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and four RBIs, and the Falcons used a four-run fifth inning and an eight-run sixth to top Deer Valley in the Tournament of Champions.
Alexia Campbell was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for Foothill.
Valencia (Calif.) 7, Coronado 6 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., the Cougars scored five runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-2 lead, then gave up five unearned runs in the bottom of the inning to lose it.
Coronado committed three of its six errors in the fifth, and the game was called because of the time limit in the Tournament of Champions.
Danielle Amato was 2-for-3 with a double, a homer and three RBIs, and Jillian James went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs for Coronado, which got an RBI double from Basia Query.
Hamilton (Ariz.) 10, Coronado 5 — At Bullhead City, Ariz., the Huskies scored five runs in the top of the ninth to top the Cougars in the Tournament of Champions.
Amato was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, and Jaiden Johnson went 4-for-5 for Coronado. James added three hits, including a solo home run, for the Cougars.
Bishop Gorman 8, Bishop Manogue 1 — At Gorman, Dayton Yingling had two doubles and four RBIs to help the Gaels top the Miners in the Kick Off the Season Tournament.
Ashley Witucki and Shelby Estocado each added two hits for the Gaels.
Rancho 7, Legacy 0 — At Needles, Calif., Samantha Pochop tossed a six-inning one-hitter and struck out 13 as the Rams topped the Longhorns in the semifinals of the Colorado River Invitational.
Brandy Marlett belted a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning for Rancho, which went on to beat Boulder City, 10-1 in the championship game.
Legacy 12, Chino Valley (Ariz.) 2 — At Needles, Calif., Anastasia Fuller went 3-for-4 with an RBI to help the Longhorns top Chino Valley in four innings in the Colorado River Invitational.
Gabby Rinker was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Legacy.
Eureka 12, Pahranagat Valley 8 — At Alamo, Taylor Anderson went 2-for-3 with two doubles and scored three runs to help the Vandals hold off the Panthers in the championship game of the Pahranagat Valley Invitational.
