SOFTBALL: Snyder’s two-out double sends Spartans past Diamondbacks

Alexa Snyder’s two-out double in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday plated the winning run as Cimarron-Memorial’s softball team collected a 3-2 victory at Desert Oasis.
Snyder tossed a seven-hitter and struck out 11 for the Spartans, and teammate Carmen Hasbrouck went 2-for-4.
Mary Dungey was 2-for-3 for the Diamondbacks.
Coronado 17, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Jillian James tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out seven and walking one, as the Cougars routed the Dragons.
Jaiden Johnson was 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and six RBIs for Coronado, which scored 14 runs in the second inning.
Taylor Okamura was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Basia Query went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Cougars. James was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Pahrump Valley 9, Cheyenne 4 — At Cheyenne, Whitney Roderick was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and went the distance in the circle to lead the Trojans over the Desert Shields.
Roderick allowed three earned runs on four hits and had six strikeouts.
Deliah Polnau was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Amanda Pryor went 2-for-4 for Pahrump.
Destiny Gain had a solo home run for Cheyenne.
Faith Lutheran 9, Mojave 5 — At Mojave, Alex Wright was 4-for-4 with a two-run double and a home run to guide the Crusaders to victory over the Rattlers.
Vanessa Valdeza had three hits for Faith Lutheran.
Danette Daguiar had a double and scored a run for Mojave.
Basic 8, Eldorado 2 — At Basic, Lexi Edmonds tossed a four-hitter to lead the Wolves by the Sundevils.
Jodi Williams supplied three hits and three RBIs, and Bailey Cunanan had two hits and two runs for Basic, which got three runs from Paige Blake.
Brook Ortiz had a double and a single for Eldorado.
Centennial 16, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Heather Bowen went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs, and Angel Love was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs to power the Bulldogs to a five-inning rout of the Longhorns.
Kara Simpson doubled twice for Centennial.
Maddie Jones tossed a four-hit shutout for the Bulldogs.
Bishop Gorman 17, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Dayton Yingling was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs as the Gaels routed the Bengals in five innings.
Yingling and Casey Nelson combined on a five-hitter for Gorman, which led 10-0 after one inning.
Western 22, Clark 9 — At Western, winning pitcher Brenda Sandoval was 4-for-5 with two doubles and five RBIs as the Warriors topped the Chargers in five innings.
Kassidy Pahia went 5-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and four runs scored for Western, which used a 10-run second inning to pull away.
Kataryna Jaworsky and Antoinette Martinez-Tili each supplied three hits for Clark.
Tech 26, Desert Pines 8 — At Desert Pines, Ashley Ramsey went 4-for-6 with a double, three runs and five RBIs, and Jasmine Ramos was 3-for-5 with two runs and five RBIs as the Roadrunners routed the Jaguars.
Austyn Dziewit was 3-for-5 with two doubles and five runs, and Kimmie Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs for Tech.
Melissa Benford was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and Cynthia Zack and Anna Torres each added three hits for Desert Pines.
