SOFTBALL: Stephens’ double keys Arbor View rally

Kayla Stephens’ two-run double keyed a four-run rally in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday that lifted Arbor View’s softball team to a 6-4 win at Green Valley.

The Aggies trailed 3-2 after six innings, but used three hits and three walks to take a 6-3 lead.

Kellie Anderson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Arbor View.

Jinger Meuir went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs, and Italia Reinoehl was 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for the Gators.

Faith Lutheran 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Mosie Foley tossed a four-hitter and struck out seven to lead the Crusaders by the Grizzlies.

Samantha Jack went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Faith Lutheran.

Ellie Endsley was 2-for-3 with two doubles for Spring Valley.

Sierra Vista 7, Pahrump Valley 1 — At Pahrump, Kalei Watkins spun a three-hitter and slugged a three-run home run to lead the Mountain Lions by the Trojans.

Madison Hiu and Kira Felise each had two hits for Sierra Vista.

Jordan Egan was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for Pahrump.

Mojave 19, Clark 18 — At Clark, the Rattlers broke a 12-12 tie with seven runs in the top of the seventh inning and held on to edge the Chargers.

Clark scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh and had runners at second and third with two outs, but Mojave center fielder Luisa Najera made a running catch to end the game.

Kyhara Evenson hit two home runs for Clark.

Shadow Ridge 10, Liberty 4 — At Shadow Ridge, Marisa Miano was 3-for-4 with two runs to help the Mustangs top the Patriots.

Samaiya Montgomery, Alisha Schultz and Justin Garganese each added two hits and an RBI for Shadow Ridge, which got a two-run home run from Shelbi Denman.

Marisa Olmos had an RBI double for Liberty.

Rancho 10, Basic 4 — At Rancho, Tiare Lee went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs, and McKinzi Vega was 3-for-3 with three RBIs as the Rams topped the Wolves.

Yvette Sanchez was 3-for-4 for Rancho.

Samantha Pochop struck out 13 batters in five innings of relief for the Rams.

Centennial 13, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Cimarron, Stephanie Day went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and the Bulldogs used a 10-run third inning to rout the Spartans in five innings.

Kara Simpson was 3-for-3 with an RBI for Centennial.

Rosie Del Rosario homered in the bottom of the fifth inning for Cimarron.

Legacy 14, Valley 2 — At Valley, Alyssa Sotelo was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and two runs as the Longhorns pulled away from the Vikings.

Eliza Ledesma-Esparza was 3-for-4 with a run, and winning pitcher Kellie Nelson was 2-for-4 with three runs for Legacy.

Gabriella Morales was 4-for-4 with two triples, a double and two runs for Valley.

Desert Oasis 17, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Karly Severance went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs as the Diamondbacks blanked the Bengals in five innings.

Scarlett Hurtado was 2-for-2 with an RBI for Desert Oasis.

Jalyn Chao and Severance combined on a one-hitter.

Coronado 19, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Tatum Spangler tossed a five-inning three-hitter and went 5-for-5 with two RBIs to lead the Cougars by the Sundevils.

Basia Query had two hits and two RBIs, and Erica Hardy added two hits for Coronado, which got four RBIs from Jillian James.

Cheyenne 27, Western 4 — At Western, winning pitcher Jonnette Paddy had two doubles and five RBIs as the Desert Shields blitzed the Warriors in five innings.

Taylor Cole had four runs and four RBIs for Cheyenne, which scored 17 runs in the second inning.
