SOFTBALL: Stevenson’s hit lifts Falcons by Liberty in eight innings

Caitlyn Stevenson’s single in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Kaitlyn Enzweiler with the winning run as Foothill’s softball team edged visiting Liberty, 8-7 on Wednesday.
Stevenson was 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs for the Falcons, who scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game.
Morgan LaNeve was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Patriots.
Silverado 7, Basic 6 — At Silverado, Alessandra Ponce smacked a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to lift the Skyhawks by the Wolves.
Ponce also had a double and finished 3-for-4. Sarah Ford was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI for Silverado.
Sanoe Helenini was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, and Alyssa Ferguson was 3-for-5 with a double for Basic.
Sunrise Mountain 5, Moapa Valley 4 — At Overton, winning pitcher Andrea Garner threw a seven-hitter with five strikeouts and went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs as the Miners nipped the Pirates.
Selena Martinez was 2-for-4 for Sunrise Mountain.
Karsen Cardinal was 2-for-3 with a double for Moapa Valley.
Bishop Gorman 11, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Faith Lutheran, Monique Passalacqua was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs to lead the Gaels by the Crusaders.
Ashley Witucki went 2-for-4 with a double and three runs, and winning pitcher Darian Pancirov was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Gorman.
Mosie Foley went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Grace Hornsby went 2-for-3 with a double for Faith Lutheran, which got a two-run home run from Samantha Jack.
Rancho 9, Eldorado 2 — At Eldorado, Tiare Lee went 2-for-3 with a home run, and the Rams used a six-run fourth inning to down the Sundevils.
Lorena De La Torre was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and winning pitcher Lili Gutierrez was 2-for-4 with a double for Rancho.
Kerri Nasife and Kristie Thomas each went 3-for-4 for Eldorado.
Chaparral 13, Del Sol 3 — At Chaparral, Alex Montoya went 2-for-3 with a triple and a three-run double to lead the Cowboys by the Dragons in six innings.
Sara Living was 2-for-3 with a double, and Ninive Valenzuela was 2-for-4 for Chaparral.
Alina Marruffo went 3-for-4, and Nicki Zuniga was 2-for-3 with a double for Del Sol.
Green Valley 14, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, Samantha Loving was 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs as the Gators routed the Wildcats in five innings.
Allie Lamb had a grand slam in the third inning, and Cinthia Garcia was 2-for-4 for Green Valley.
Summer Horn was 2-for-2 with a double for Las Vegas.
Coronado 18, Canyon Springs 2 — At Coronado, Taylor Austin tossed a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Cougars routed the Pioneers.
Basia Query was 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, two runs and five RBIs for Coronado, which led 15-0 after two innings. Erica Hardy was 3-for-4 with four runs, and teammate Alexis Okamura was 4-for-4 with two doubles and three runs for the Cougars.
Boulder City 16, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Bailey Bennett-Jordan threw a five-inning two-hitter and struck out eight as the Eagles blanked the Jaguars.
Charlene Masterson had four hits and six RBIs, and Jerra Hinson added four hits for Boulder City, which scored 11 runs in the second inning.
