SOFTBALL: Western scores four in seventh to defeat Del Sol

Jennessa Dunton went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs, and Western’s softball team scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 7-7 tie and defeat host Del Sol, 11-8 on Wednesday.
The Dragons scored one run in the bottom of the seventh for the final margin.
Winning pitcher Makalita Moeaki contributed a double, triple and two RBIs, and Adrianna Jones doubled twice and supplied three RBIs for the Warriors, who fell behind 6-5 after three innings.
Selena Erickson doubled, tripled and drove in two runs, and Nicki Zuniga doubled twice and had two RBIs for Del Sol. Angel Jones went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Sierra Rivera had two hits and two RBIs for the Dragons.
Moapa Valley 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Overton, Emilie Barraza had a double and two RBIs to spark the Pirates to a win over the Desert Shields.
Daesha Stastny scattered five hits over seven innings to pick up the win for Moapa Valley, which scored all of their runs in the third inning.
Cheyenne’s Madelynn Kennedy tossed a four-hitter in the loss.
Mojave 15, Virgin Valley 9 — At Mesquite, Larissa Lynne had three hits and three RBIs to help the Rattlers top the Bulldogs.
Mojave scored nine runs over the final three innings to pull out the victory. Jessica Ortiz added two hits and two RBIs, and Emilee Mitton drove in two runs for the Rattlers.
Savannah Price had three hits for Virgin Valley.
Durango 14, Spring Valley 3 — At Spring Valley, Trinity Valentine was 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs and four RBIs to power the Trailblazers past the Grizzlies in five innings.
Savannah Delgadillo went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Durango, which had 15 hits and a six-run fifth inning. Avahly Geraldo supplied two hits and an RBI for the Trailblazers.
Madison Hood and Teegan Teal each provided two hits to lead Spring Valley.
Chaparral 13, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Chaparral, winning pitcher Losi Brown scattered four hits and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Cowboys past the Miners in six innings.
Chaparral, which fell behind 2-0 after the first inning, grabbed a 3-2 lead after four innings and put the game away with a seven-run fifth.
Amy Locklear went 2-for-3 for Sunrise Mountain.
Desert Oasis 15, Clark 0 — At Desert Oasis, Meaghan McInerney went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs, and Megan Anders had a double and an RBI as the Diamondbacks routed the Chargers.
Jazmyn Compehos, Jada Moreno, Jaid Raval and Maggie Shepard each had two hits for Desert Oasis, which led 7-0 after the first inning.
Compehos struck out five and gave up only two hits to pick up the win.
Ashley Turner and Sharon Vernaz each doubled for Clark.
Sierra Vista 16, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Ryan Watkins went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and winning pitcher Kalei Watkins was 2-for-3 with a double as the Mountain Lions blanked the Bengals in four innings.
Jazmyn Martinez added two hits for Sierra Vista, which took advantage of nine errors by Bonanza.
Tech 15, Desert Pines 0 — At Tech, Gizele Cascos pitched a one-hitter with four strikeouts to help the Roadrunners to the three-inning win over the Jaguars.
Katy Orellana was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for Tech.
