SOFTBALL: Yee lifts Crusaders over the Patriots

Bri Yee hit a game-tying triple in the top of the seventh inning, then scored the winning run on Lauryn Lipe’s sacrifice fly as Faith Lutheran’s softball team rallied for a 4-3 win at Liberty on Friday.

The Crusaders trailed 3-2 entering the seventh inning before Vanessa Valdez led off with a single. Yee’s triple scored Valdez with the tying run, and Lipe followed with the sacrifice fly.

Lipe also doubled and had two RBIs for the Crusaders.

Tiana Tapuala was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and an RBI, and Jenn Story had two singles and an RBI for the Patriots.

Palo Verde 2, Foothill 1 — At Foothill, Breanna Beatty hit a two-run double in the top of the second to lead the Panthers over the Falcons.

Kelsea Sweeney gave up three hits and no runs in four innings for the Panthers.

Sarah Maddox had an RBI double in the fourth inning for Foothill.

Sarah Penksa went the distance for the Falcons, scattering six hits.

Spring Valley 2, Rancho 0 — At Spring Valley, Michaela Hood doubled in two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to break open a scoreless game as the Grizzlies blanked the Rams.

Raven Bierlein and Hood combined on the shutout, with Hood working the final three innings.

Eldorado 6, Las Vegas 1 — At Las Vegas, the Sundevils scored four runs in the top of the fourth to break a 1-1 tie and down the Wildcats.

Madalyn Bonilla was 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Eldorado. Kerrigan Holman was 2-for-4, and Brook Ortiz, Sabrina Summers and Audry Madrid each added an RBI for the Sundevils.

Kristie Thomas went the distance, scattering eight hits and striking out four, to get the win.

Centennial 12, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, Angel Love went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs and four RBIs as the Bulldogs downed the Skyhawks.

Lacie Chakos was 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Allison Riggs went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Centennial, which scored eight runs in the seventh inning. Lina Barrera was 2-for-4 for the Bulldogs.

Jennifer Cerrone tossed a two-hitter and struck out six for Centennial.

Boulder City 10, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Mikaela Brown spun a five-inning one-hitter as the Eagles topped the Miners.

Brown and Summer Smith each went 2-for-3 with a double, and Charlene Masterson was 2-for-4 with a double for Boulder City, which broke a scoreless tie with six runs in the third inning.

Nicole Schulz was 2-for-3 for Boulder City.

Chaparral 17, Desert Pines 1 — At Chaparral, Monica Ramirez tossed a five-inning five-hitter and went 3-for-4 to help the Cowboys top the Jaguars.

Vanessa Donham was 1-for-1 with a double and four runs for Chaparral.

Pahrump Valley 24-12, Virgin Valley 1-1 — At Mesquite, Amanda Pryor struck out six in a four-hitter and had two RBIs in the five-inning opener, and Lahela Kaiwi pitched a five-inning one-hitter in the nightcap as the Trojans swept the Bulldogs.

Deliah Polnau added two singles and two RBIs in the opener.

The Meadows 22-18, Agassi Prep 9-5 — At The Meadows, Missy Siegel went 4-for-5 with three doubles and four runs in the opener and 3-for-3 with a double and a run in the nightcap as the Mustangs swept a pair of five-inning games from the Stars.

Amanda Hansen was 3-for-4 with two runs, and Noelle Young was 3-for-4 with four runs in the second game for The Meadows.

Darayon Moore was 2-for-4 with two runs in the first game for Agassi Prep.

Pahranagat Valley 13-14, Indian Springs 5-12 — At Indian Springs, Cheyenne Harris and Monica Heredia hit back-to-back doubles to plate the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning in the second game and help the Panthers sweep the Thunderbirds.

Kennedy Huntsman went 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs in the second game for Pahranagat Valley, which scored six runs in the top of the seventh to take a 12-5 lead, but Indian Springs scored seven times to tie the game before the Panthers got two runs in the eighth.

In the opener, Huntsman went 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, and Bailee Hosier was 2-for-3 as Pahranagat Valley rolled to the win.

Sandy Valley 8-2, Tonopah 3-19 — At Sandy Valley, Taylor Bolan smacked a three-run home run in the fifth inning of the opener to help the Sidewinders earn a split with the Muckers.

Valley at Basic — The Valley at Basic game was postponed after umpires did not arrive at the field. A reschedule date has not been set.
