BOYS SWIMMING: Friedrich, Velazquez help Gators roll past Pioneers

Carter Friedrich and Michael Velazquez each won two individual events at Multi-Generational on Saturday to lead Green Valley’s boys swimming team to a 180-89 win over Canyon Springs.

Friedrich won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 8.57 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:18.93. Velazquez claimed the 50 freestyle in 22.17 and the 100 backstroke in 57.85.

Arbor View 178, Durango 92 — At Pavilion, the Aggies swept the relays on their way to victory over the Trailblazers.

Durango’s Nicholas McDowell won the 200 individual medley in 2:06.75 and the 500 freestyle in 4:53.32, and teammate John Tuss took the 100 butterfly in 1:06.54 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.84.

Bishop Gorman 145, Bonanza 72 — At Pavilion, Jaron Bengson, Tristan Bunker and Matthew Golez all won two events to lead the Gaels past the Bengals.

Bengson was first in the 200 individual medley (2:27.34) and the 100 backstroke (1:10.46), while Bunker won the 200 freestyle in 1:53.66 and the 100 butterfly in 57.78. Golez took the 100 freestyle in 55.33 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.18.

Las Vegas 166, Rancho 83 — At Multi-Generational, Alexis Sauceda and Avery Woofter each won two events to help the Wildcats top the Rams.

Sauceda took the 200 freestyle in 2:15.78 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.37, and Woofter won the 100 backstroke in 1:17.5 and the 100 butterfly in 1:12.81.

Silverado 149, Valley 128 — At Multi-Generational, Adi Angel won the 50 freestyle in 24.58 and the 100 freestyle in 53.62 to lead the Skyhawks by the Vikings.

Liberty 142, Eldorado 117 — At Multi-Generational, Brad Cornelius claimed the 200 individual medley in 2:46.18 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.49 to help the Patriots top the Sundevils.

Eldorado’s Troy Sirat won the 50 freestyle (24.37) and the 500 freestyle (6:28.34), and teammate Montana Coombs won the 100 backstroke (1:07.68) and the 100 butterfly (1:06.24).

Palo Verde 185, Sierra Vista 61 — At Pavilion, Mihail Amiorkov, Logan Houck and Luke Trafton all won two events as the Panthers cruised past the Mountain Lions.

Amiorkov won the 50 freestyle in 24.09 and the 100 freestyle in 52.81, and Houck was first in the 200 individual medley (2:07.96) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.37).

Trafton took the 200 freestyle in 1:55.46 and the 500 freestyle in 6:39.43.

Legacy 196, Virgin Valley 65 — At Pavilion, Garrett Jones and Isaiah Magsino each won two events to help the Longhorns defeat the Bulldogs.

Jones won the 100 freestyle in 51.94 and the 100 backstroke in 59.9, and Magsino was first in the 100 butterfly (54.14) and the 100 breaststroke (1:03.08).

Virgin Valley’s Ramsey Draskovich won the 200 individual medley (2:24.2) and was second to Magsino in the 100 breaststroke.

Boulder City 197, Chaparral 52 — At Multi-Generational, Jared Smith and Joey Gebhart won two events apiece as the Eagles swam by the Cowboys.

Smith claimed the 200 freestyle in 1:44.82 and the 100 backstroke in 52.33. Gebhart was first in both the 200 individual medley (2:04.27) and the 500 freestyle (4:59.36).

Coronado 212, Basic 71 — At Multi-Generational, Jake Chir and Nick Moorehead each took two events to help the Cougars down the Wolves.

Chir won the 200 freestyle in 1:44.83 and the 100 backstroke in 55.74. Moorehead claimed the 100 butterfly in 54.12 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.55.

Foothill 226, Del Sol 20 — At Municipal, Wyatt Berndt and Kaden Jesperson each won two events as the Falcons routed the Dragons.

Berndt captured the 100 freestyle in 54.64 and the 500 freestyle in 5:20.31. Jesperson claimed the 50 freestyle in 24.32 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.18.

Shadow Ridge 168, Spring Valley 94 — At Multi-Generational, the Mustangs used their depth to down the Grizzlies.

Spring Valley’s Nicholas Cabalo won the 200 individual medley in 2:14.94 and the 100 butterfly in 58.49, and teammate Jay Yang took the 100 backstroke in 54.9 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.02.

Centennial 138, Desert Oasis 96 — At Pavilion, Jeff Lippitt and Carter Grimes won two events apiece to help the Bulldogs slip past the Diamondbacks.

Lippitt was first in the 200 individual medley in 2:16.21 and won the 100 freestyle in 54.5. Grimes took the 100 butterfly (55.59) and the 100 backstroke (55.37).

Faith Lutheran 208, Western 30 — At Pavilion, Eric Anderson and Michael Fisk each captured two events as the Crusaders coasted past the Warriors.

Anderson was victorious in the 50 freestyle (27.48) and the 500 freestyle (6:26.36). Fisk won the 200 individual medley in 2:09.64 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.45.

Western’s Halim Koljenovic took the 100 butterfly in a strong time of 56.33.

Sunrise Mountain 152, Moapa Valley 27 — At Municipal, Bryan Rodriguez and James Stanton each won twice as the Miners swam by the Pirates.

Rodriguez took the 100 butterfly in 1:11.44 and the 200 freestyle in 2:15.69. Stanton claimed the 50 freestyle in 25.62 and the 100 freestyle in 1:02.18.

Tech 137, Desert Pines 56 — At Municipal, Bradley Frakes and Michael Pecjak won two events apiece to help the Roadrunners top the Jaguars.

Frakes won the 200 freestyle in 2:04.75 and the 100 freestyle in 56.66. Pecjak took the 100 butterfly in 1:26.47 and the 100 backstroke in 1:23.68.
