BOYS SWIMMING: Virgin Valley narrowly defeats Chaparral

Keaton Ogden and Dylan Wilson finished 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle Saturday to help the Virgin Valley boys swimming team slip past Chaparral at Multi-Generational, 112-111.
Ogden touched first in 2 minutes, 22.13 seconds and was the lone individual swimming winner for Virgin Valley. David Vogel won the one-meter diving event with 112.9 points for the Bulldogs, followed by teammate Victor Colmenero (111 points).
Chaparral’s Daniel Alvarez, Adam Mirjanian and Jesus Ruiz each won two events.
Alvarez was first in the 500 freestyle (5:29.0) and the 100 breaststroke (1:14.80), and Mirjanian took the 50 and 100 freestyles in 23.49 and 53.45, respectively.
Ruiz won the 200 individual medley (2:32.50) and 100 backstroke (1:17.28).
Shadow Ridge 143, Bishop Gorman 142 — At Municipal, Ryan Clayborne won the 100-meter freestyle (52.43) and finished second in the 50 freestyle to help the Mustangs edge the Gaels.
Bishop Gorman won the final relay of the day to make it close, but it was not enough to top the Mustangs.
Centennial 210, Durango 19 — At Municipal, the Bulldogs swept the top two spots in every event to cruise to victory over the Trailblazers.
Tyler Peterson won both the 100 freestyle (52.41) and the 100 backstroke (1:03.02) to lead the Bulldogs in the win.
Eldorado 115, Sunrise Mountain 62 — At Municipal, Tyler Harper won the 50 freestyle (24.64) and the 500 freestyle (6:08.66) to lead the Sun Devils to a win over the Miners.
Thomas Harris won the 100 freestyle (1:02.53) and the 100 butterfly (1:06.84), and Andrew Winder won both the 200 individual medley (2:26.28) and the 100 breaststroke (1:16.69) for the Sundevils.
Palo Verde 185½, Arbor View 107½ — At Municipal, Tyler Edlefsen won both the 100 backstroke (58.05) and the 100 butterfly (56.35) to lead the Panthers over the Aggies.
Tech 164, Silverado 110 — At Multi-Generational, Durand Farr and James Nguyen each won two events to help the Roadrunners past the Skyhawks.
Farr touched first in the 200 freestyle (2:11.99) and the 100 butterfly (1:08.18), and Nguyen won the 50 freestyle (23.85) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.22).
Ray Cadena won the 100 freestyle (59.49), and James Barlow was first in the 500 freestyle (6:17.55) for Silverado.
Coronado 214, Liberty 61 —At Multi-Generational, Coronado won every event to top the Patriots.
Sean Marchewski won the 50 freestyle (23.11) and the 100 freestyle (50.93) for the Cougars, and Michael Luna won both the 200 individual medley (2:05.72) and the 500 freestyle (4:56.90).
Boulder City 153, Desert Pines 53 — At Multi-Generational, the Eagles topped the Jaguars by 100 points and swept all three relays.
Braden Klouse won both the 200 freestyle (1:55.84) and the 100 freestyle (51.42) for the Eagles, and Siavash Mirzazadeh won both the 100 butterfly (58.84) and the 500 freestyle (5:08.81).
Green Valley 205, Las Vegas 67 — At Multi-Generational, two Gators won a pair of individual events to help them beat the Wildcats.
Green Valley’s Christian Chandler won the 50 freestyle (24.20) and the 100 freestyle (52.58), and Kenneth Lee won the 200 freestyle (1:55.84) and the 100 butterfly (59.29),
Tech 207, Canyon Springs 16 — At Multi-Generational, James Nguyen won the 50 freestyle (23.85) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.22) to lead the Roadrunners over the Pioneers.
Alex Sanchez won the 200 individual medley (2:20.47) and 500 freestyle (5:40.85) for the Pioneers’ two victories.
Clark 206, Bonanza 58 — At Pavilion, the Chargers were one event away from a clean sweep but still went home with a comfortable win over the Bengals.
Edward Sung won the 50 freestyle (26.97) and the 100 backstroke (1:08.27) to help lead the Chargers.
Legacy 170, Faith Lutheran 104 — At Pavilion, Tama Tuitama and McKay Mickelson both won a pair of events to lead the Longhorns to a win over the Crusaders.
Tuitama won the 200 freestyle (1:49.91) and the 100 freestyle (49.07), Mickelson won the 50 freestyle (23.32) and 100 backstroke (54.41).
Western 93, Mojave 56 — At Pavilion, the Warriors had two individuals win multiple events to down the Rattlers.
Mason Claiborne won the 200 individual medley (2:16.16) and the 100 freestyle (54.71) for Western, and teammate Sebastian Gomez won the 100 butterfly (1:25.05) and the 100 breaststroke (1:23.09).
Sierra Vista 165, Desert Oasis 82 — At Pavilion, the Mountain Lions swept the relays and all but one of the individual events to topple the Diamondbacks.
Michael Finetti won the 100 breaststroke (1:06.11) and the 100 backstroke (59.66) for the Mountain Lions.
Rancho 98, Moapa Valley 76 — At Multi-Generational, Krasen Ivanov won a pair of races to help the Rams over Moapa Valley.
Ivanov won the 500 freestyle (6:11.27) and the 100 backstroke (1:05.42) to lead the Rams.
Foothill 214, Basic 54 — At Multi-Generational, the Falcons won every event to rout the Wolves.
Bobby Slaugh and Denver Renner both won two events for Foothill. Slaugh won the 200 individual medley (2:15.04) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.06), and Renner won the 100 butterfly (55.93) and the 200 freestyle (1:52.33).
Valley 131, Del Sol 81 — At Multi-Generational, Alexsander Johannesen and Aaron Lukas Moore each won two events in the Vikings’ victory over the Dragons.
Johannesen was first in the 50 freestyle (22.70) and the 500 freestyle (4:51.89). Moore won the 100 freestyle (55.82) and the 100 backstroke (1:07.37).
Daniel Hernandez touched first in the 200 freestyle (2:12:51) and was second in the 100 freestyle for Del Sol.
