The Las Vegas Review-Journal announces its 2016 all-state boys swimming teams.

The Panthers took control early, with both teams cruising to victories. It was the second consecutive state title for the girls and the fourth straight for the boys.
Boulder City’s boys made it somewhat interesting by scoring 110 points to defeat second-place Sierra Vista by 25 points. But the girls dominated throughout, scoring 156 points to easily get past second-place Truckee, which finished with 111 points. It was the sixth consecutive championship for the Eagles’ boys and the fourth straight for the girls.
The college-bound quartet of Izzy Goldsmith, Hailey Houck, Adriana Piccininni and Kasdyn Rafie won the final race of the Division I Sunset Region boys and girls swimming and diving meet Saturday — a swimming curtain call — to cap off Palo Verde’s second straight girls team title.
It was mid-March when Coronado swimming coach David Stump got a phone call from senior Parker Evans.
Mandy Gebhart, Montana Lloyd and Rose Pouch each placed first in two individual events, and Boulder City won seven of the eight individual swimming events Friday to run away with the Division I-A Southern Region girls swimming title at UNLV.
Aydin Sachs won two individual events Saturday to help Arbor View’s boys swimming team to a 197-102 win over Faith Lutheran at Pavilion.
Tristan Arruti, Garrett Jones and Tama Tuitama each won two individual events Saturday to help Legacy’s boys swimming team edge Bishop Gorman, 148-146 at Municipal.
Kaden Jesperson and Denver Renner each won two individual events Saturday to help the Foothill boys swimming team to a 200-68 win over Las Vegas at Heritage Park.
Tama Tuitama and Garrett Jones each won two individual events Saturday at Pavilion to help the Legacy boys swimming team to a 148-146 win over Arbor View.
Mason Archer won two individual events Saturday to help Sierra Vista to a 143-142 win over Clark at Pavilion.
Tyler Cairncross and Mason Claiborne each won two individual events Wednesday to lead the Mojave boys swimming team to a 99-93 win over Western at Adelson School.
Durango”s Nick McDowell shouldn”t have to worry about being behind often this season. He is the state”s top returner in the 500-yard freestyle after finishing second at the Division I state meet as a junior and also is a contender in the 200 freestyle.
