Boulder City’s girls team won their record sixth-straight team championship behind two record-setting performances from Rose Pouch. But the Boulder City boys team saw their streak of seven consecutive state titles ended by Truckee.
Led by its Green Valley 400-yard freestyle relay, the Green Valley girls swimming team brought home a state championship.
The team championships for both boys and girls at Friday’s Class 4A Sunrise Regional swimming championships came down to Coronado and Green Valley and the final event of the day — the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Both the boys and girls teams dominated for Palo Verde as they cruised to region titles.
The twin brother-sister duo of Rose and A.J. Pouch, combined for eight wins, as the Eagles rolled to a pair of regional titles.
Coronado’s Timothy Newton recorded a score of 530.35 on Monday night to win the Class 4A Sunrise Region boys diving championship at UNLV.

Cody Prince won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.06 seconds and a margin of victory of .32 seconds to lead the Shadow Ridge boys swimming team to a 149-145 victory over Centennial at Pavilion on Saturday.
Keaton Ogden won the 100-meter freestyle in 57.90 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 2:11.85 on Thursday to help Virgin Valley’s boys swimming team to a 90-38 win over Sunrise Mountain in Mesquite.

Tyler Edlefsen and Trajan Houston each won two individual events Saturday at Pavilion to lead Palo Verde’s boys swimming team to a 213-70 win over Faith Lutheran.
