Nadira Koljanovic and Alexandria Ceballos each won two individual events Thursday, and Western’s 400-meter freestyle relay team won the final event to allow the Warriors’ girls swim team to escape with an 83-81 win over host Adelson School.
Koljanovic took the 100 freestyle in 1 minute, 9.32 seconds and the 200 individual medley in 2:51.12. Ceballos won the 200 freestyle in 3:19.72 and 400 freestyle in 7:26.37.
Mojave 75, The Meadows 74 — At Adelson School, the Rattlers’ only victory came in the final race — the 400 freestyle relay — but it was enough to push Mojave past the Mustangs.
The Meadows’ Jessie Barra won the 100 breaststroke in 1:20.91 and the 100 freestyle in 1:01.99.
Eliana Crawford added wins in the 50 freestyle (29.65) and 200 individual medley (2:32.06) for the Mustangs, and teammate Olivia Jones captured the 100 backstroke (1:37.74) and the 200 freestyle (3:12.49).
Sunrise Mountain 133, Cheyenne 68 — At Adelson School, the Miners won a pair of relays and one individual event on their way to the victory.
Cheyenne’s Taylor DiNicola claimed the 100 backstroke in 1:31.02 and the 400 freestyle in 6:50.7, and teammate Alejandra Parraz won the 100 freestyle in 1:26.7 and 200 freestyle 3:27.57. Daniela Munafo won the 50 freestyle in 42.47 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:56.18 for the Desert Shields.
BOYS
Adelson School 94, Western 83 — At Adelson School, Eli Gabay took the 50 freestyle (28.28) and 200 freestyle (2:41.75) to help the Lions edge the Warriors.
Western’s Ben Hesse captured the 200 individual medley in 3:10.22 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.81.
Cheyenne 133, Sunrise Mountain 94 — At Adelson School, Morgan Thompson and Dylan Thompson each captured two individual events as the Desert Shields topped the Miners.
Morgan Thompson took the 100 butterfly in 1:19.99 and the 200 freestyle in 2:30.36, and Dylan Thompson won the 100 breaststroke in 1:22.66 and the 100 freestyle in 1:04.22.
Mojave 51, The Meadows 0 — At Adelson School, the Rattlers scored in four events and blanked the Mustangs.
