ROUNDUP: Green Valley boys cruise past Tech

William Meek, Sean Jefferson and Robert Hommel combined to win half of the events Saturday as Green Valley’s boys swimming team downed Tech 227-43 at Whitney Ranch.
Meek took the 50 freestyle in 23.72 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 1:53.72.
Jefferson won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.75) and 100 butterfly (55.97), and Hommel won the 100 (48.6) and 500 freestyles (4:58.16).
Palo Verde 200, Centennial 80 — At Desert Breeze, Jake Priest and Andrew Chen each won twice to lead the Panthers past the Bulldogs.
Chen won the 200 freestyle (1:52.90) and 100 backstroke (58.17). Priest took the 100 butterfly (53.48) and 100 breaststroke (1:03.49).
Arbor View 182, Shadow Ridge 69 — At Desert Breeze, Brian Martinez won the 100 (48.09) and 200 freestyles (1:51.3) to lead the Aggies past the Mustangs.
Stuart Jacobson captured the 200 individual medley (2:08.5) and 50 fresestyle (24.33) for Shadow Ridge.
Sierra Vista 115, Desert Oasis 115 — At Desert Breeze, Emile Maritz, Vincent Landram and Matthew Rosenfeld each won twice to help the Mountain Lions tie the Diamondbacks.
Maritz won the 200 freestyle (1:56.23) and 100 butterfly (1:00.95). Landram took the 50 freestyle (26.79) and 100 backstroke (1:17.59). Rosenfeld won the 100 freestyle (46.61) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.94).
Legacy 148, Mojave 13 — At Whitney Ranch, Sam Smedley and Andrew Tadd each had two wins as the Longhorns swept the 11 swimming events and beat the Rattlers.
Smedley won the 50 (25.17) and 100 freestyles (57.56). Tadd captured the 100 butterfly (1:08.85) and 100 backstroke (1:33.87).
Chaparral 99, Cheyenne 48 — At Whitney Ranch, Trent Neal and William Alvarado each won twice as the Cowboys downed the Desert Shields.
Neal won the 50 (28.37) and 100 freestyles (1:06.34). Alvarado took the 100 breaststroke (1:24.38) and 500 freestyle (7:14.32).
 
Bonanza 161, Durango 123 — At Desert Breeze, Bonanza won just three events, but used its depth to turn back Durango.
 
The Trailblazers' Michael Torres won the 200 (1:53.72) and 500 freestyles (5:14.39), and teammate Drew Leslie took the 100 butterfly (57.82) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.12).
 
Spring Valley 116, Faith Lutheran 102 — At Desert Breeze, Dylan Wolf, Brett Beck and Jesse Dwyer each won twice to guide the Grizzlies past Faith Lutheran.
 
Wolf took the 200 individual medley (2:01.27) and 100 butterfly (53.08). Beck captured the 50 (23.77) and 100 freestyles (52.70). Dwyer was the winner in the 100 backstroke (1:00.18) and 500 freestyle (5:04.37).

Western 96, The Meadows 32 — At Desert Breeze, Kamo Paulino won the 200 individual medley (2:58.41) and 100 freestyle (1:01.73) to lead the Warriors past The Meadows.
 
Cimarron-Memorial defeats Rancho, Clark — At Desert Breeze, Cimarron-Memorial's depth was too much for Rancho and Clark in a double-dual.
 
The Spartans were 157½-96½ winners over Clark and defeated Rancho, 156½-126½. Rancho was a 152-115 winner over the Chargers.
 
Rancho's J.R. Deem took the 200 individual medley (2:06.28) and 100 butterfly (58.23).
