SWIMMING: Lessenger, Jacobsen each win two events to power Spring Valley girls

Ashlyn Lessenger and Paige Jacobsen each won two individual events Wednesday to lead Spring Valley’s girls swimming team to a 142-116 victory over host Adelson School.

Lessenger won the 100-meter butterfly in 1 minute, 13.69 seconds, and took the 100 freestyle in 1:07.16.

Jacobsen won the 100 backstroke in 1:14.16 and the 200 freestyle in 2:19.87.

Adelson’s Sophie Jorgensen was first in the 200 individual medley (3:04.72) and 100 breaststroke (1:40.72).

Mojave 156, Western 106 — At Adelson, Cosette Watson and Jessica Moreno each won twice as the Rattlers beat the Warriors.

Watson won the 200 freestyle (2:56.25) and 500 freestyle (6:22.79), and Moreno touched first in the 200 individual medley (3:16.88) and 100 butterfly (1:30.96).

BOYS

Spring Valley 138, Adelson School 54 — At Adelson, Jorge Padilla and Jay Yang each won two events as the Grizzlies topped the Lions.

Padilla won the 200 freestyle in 2:17.81 and the 500 freestyle in 5:00.51. Yang took the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.69 and the 100 freestyle in 56.97.

Adelson’s Jimmy Cheng was first in the 100 butterfly (1:17.02) and 100 backstroke (1:23.33).

Mojave 88, Western 16 — At Adelson, Steven Good and Jarid Ortiz each won two events as the Rattlers routed the Warriors.

Good won the 200 freestyle (2:57.55) and 500 freestyle (6:14.27), and Ortiz took the 100 breaststroke (1:40.39) and 200 individual medley (3:19.19).
