SWIMMING: Palo Verde boys roll past Gorman

Logan Houck, Luke Trafton and Adam Henley each won two individual events Saturday at Pavilion to help Palo Verde’s boys swimming team to a 192-101 victory over Bishop Gorman.

Houck won the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 47.81 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:01.57. Trafton took the 50 freestyle in 22.72 and the 100 freestyle in 50.56, and Henley claimed the 100 backstroke in 59.93 and the 200 individual medley in 2:04.53.

Boulder City 169½, Green Valley 122½ — At Multi-Generational, Jared Smith, Gunner Braden and Joe Gebhart each won two individual events to guide the Eagles past the Gators.

Smith won the 200 freestyle in 1:43.63 and the 500 freestyle in 4:45.16. Braden took the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.59 and the 50 freestyle in 21.94, and Gebhart claimed the 100 freestyle in 47.84 and the 100 backstroke in 53.69.

Arbor View 195, Centennial 102 — At Pavilion, Ryan Meservey and Roshaun Kness each won twice to help the Aggies top the Bulldogs.

Meservey took the 200 individual medley in 2:22.53 and the 500 freestyle in 6:12.53, and Kness claimed the 100 freestyle in 56.56 and the 100 backstroke in 1:10.53.

Centennial’s Jeff Lippitt won the 100 butterfly in 1:00, and the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.22.

Durango 143, Bonanza 45 — At Pavilion, Nicholas McDowell and Carlos Garcia each won two events to lift the Trailblazers by the Bengals.

McDowell took the 200 freestyle in 1:54.81 and the 200 individual medley in 2:12.03, and Garcia captured the 50 freestyle in 24.31 and the 100 freestyle in 1:00.66.

Bonanza’s Angelo Difalco won the 100 freestyle in 1:01.37 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.5.

Basic 150, Canyon Springs 129 — At Pavilion, Liam Wetzel won two events, and the Wolves swept all three relays to beat the Pioneers.

Wetzel cruised in the 100 butterfly (54.49) and took the 100 freestyle by more than seven seconds, touching in 50.26.

Lansen DeCosta took first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.48) and the 500 freestyle (5:52.07) for Canyon Springs.

Cimarron-Memorial 128, Spring Valley 108 — At Pavilion, Douglas Vanderhyde won the 100 freestyle (50.97) and the 500 freestyle (6:07.83) to help the Spartans slip past the Grizzlies.

Coco Padilla and Nicholas Cabalo captured two events apiece for Spring Valley. Padilla won the 200 freestyle in 2:07.97 and the 100 butterfly in 1:03.76, while Cabalo touched first in the 200 individual medley (2:12.87) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.46).

Shadow Ridge 138, Legacy 128 — At Pavilion, Taylor Kenville won the 50 freestyle in 24.12, and the Mustangs used their depth to edge the Longhorns.

Patrick Beaty took the 200 freestyle in 1:59.65 and the 100 butterfly (1:01.63), and Garret Jones was first in the 100 freestyle (53.23) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.49) for Legacy.

Sierra Vista 143, Desert Oasis 35 — At Multi-Generational, Bailey D’Alessio won the 50 freestyle in 25.28 and the 100 freestyle in 57.08 as the Mountain Lions raced by the Diamondbacks.

Las Vegas 168, Eldorado 102 — At Multi-Generational, the Wildcats had four individuals win events and took two of the three relays to top the Sundevils.

Eldorado’s Kenneth Kuhn captured the 200 freestyle in 2:04.67 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.31.

Rancho 153, Valley 110 — At Multi-Generational, Joseph Guthro won the 100 butterfly in 57.46 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.02 to guide the Rams by the Vikings.

Liberty 158, Del Sol 24 — At Heritage, Joshua Sta. Ana captured the 50 freestyle in 28.72 and the 100 backstroke in 1:20.83 as the Patriots overwhelmed the Dragons.

Del Sol’s Jason Xiong won the 100 freestyle in 56.01 and the 500 freestyle in 5:57.01.

Moorehead, Chir lead Coronado
At Heritage, Nick Moorehead and Jake Chir each won twice to help the Cougars to a 147-137 victory over Silverado.
Foothill was a 171-128 winner over the Skyhawks.

Moorehead won the 50 freestyle in 22.43 and the 500 freestyle in 5:26.37, and Chir claimed the 100 butterfly in 53.37 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.43.

Carrillo, Cowboys post win
At Heritage, Luis Carrillo won the 100 butterfly in 1:27.68 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:23.19 to help Chaparral to a 110-75 victory over Desert Pines.

Tech was a 93-57 winner over the Jaguars.

Tech’s Bradley Frakes won the 100 freestyle in 56.29 and the 200 individual medley in 2:23.87.

Clark, Cheyenne notch wins
At Pavilion, William Wang won the 100 freestyle in 51.14 and the 200 individual medley in 2:05.91 to help Clark to a 163-122 win over Faith Lutheran.

Cheyenne’s Morgan Thompson won the 200 freestyle in 1:58.35 and the 500 freestyle in 5:16.9 as the Desert Shields collected a 141-122 win over the Crusaders.
