GIRLS SWIMMING: King wins two events, Desert Shields trump Jaguars

Bryanna King won two individual events Saturday at Pavilion to help Cheyenne’s girls swimming team to a 105-97 win over Desert Pines.

King won the 100-yard backstroke in 1 minute, 42.5 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 8:53.81.

The Jaguars’ Becca Hernandez took the 50 freestyle in 29.82 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:25.69, and teammate Alejandra Orozco claimed the 200 freestyle in 3:07 and the 100 freestyle in 1:22.41.

Bishop Gorman 179, Arbor View 106 — At Pavilion, Rachel Boodt won two events to help the Gaels top the Aggies.

Boodt won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.62 and the 100 freestyle in 57.23.

Rancho 168, Canyon Springs 110 — At Pavilion, Tonicia Thomas, Breanna Lint and Patricia Matha each captured two individual events to lead the Rams by the Pioneers.

Thomas won the 100 backstroke in 1:01.06 and the 200 freestyle in 2:01.04. Lint finished first in the 100 butterfly in 1:18.23 and the 500 freestyle in 7:05.99, and Matha claimed the 100 freestyle in 58.96 and the 200 individual medley in 2:28.37.

Boulder City 178, Coronado 108 — At Multi-Generational, Alex Hubel, Cori Molisee and Montana Lloyd each won twice to carry the Eagles by the Cougars.

Hubel won the 50 freestyle in 24.72 and the 200 freestyle in 1:54.24. Molisee claimed the 100 freestyle in 54.68 and the 500 freestyle in 5:07.74, and Lloyd captured the 200 individual medley in 2:13.08 and the 100 backstroke in 58.65.

Valley 131, Liberty 102 — At Multi-Generational, Hadley Mitchell and Nathalie Martinez each took two events as the Vikings topped the Patriots.

Mitchell won the 200 freestyle in 2:23.08 and the 100 butterfly in 1:16.62. Martinez won the 200 individual medley in 2:31.55 and the 100 backstroke in 1:08.87.

Cimarron-Memorial 155½, Sierra Vista 117½ — At Desert Breeze, Cambridge Guerrero won 50 freestyle in 26.95 and the 100 butterfly in 1:09.27 to help the Spartans down the Mountain Lions.

Sierra Vista’s Isabella Green won the 200 freestyle in 2:05 and the 100 backstroke in 1:01.81.

Spring Valley 159½, Desert Oasis 108½ — At Desert Breeze, four swimmers each won one individual event as the Grizzlies used their depth to top the Diamondbacks.

Desert Oasis’ Haley Leavitt won the 200 individual medley in 2:36.65 and the 100 freestyle in 1:04.31, and teammate Karen Kurosawa won the 50 freestyle in 27.34 and the 500 freestyle in 5:47.82.

Chaparral 144, Western 71 — At Desert Breeze, Santana Garcia won the 100 freestyle in 1:06.78 and the 100 backstroke in 1:21.91 to lead the Cowboys by the Warriors.

Western’s Jessica Moreno won the 200 individual medley in 3:05.77 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:32.41.

Bonanza 135, Durango 87 — At Pavilion, Donna Byrne won the 100 breaststroke in 1:29.74 and the 200 individual medley in 2:50.05 to help the Bengals down the Trailblazers.

Durango’s Anna Ward captured the 200 freestyle in 2:27.59 and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.62.

Clark 144, Legacy 109 — At Pavilion, the Chargers swept the three relays and had five swimmers win one individual event apiece on their way to a victory over the Longhorns.

Legacy’s Joelle Beachler claimed the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.62 and the 100 backstroke in 1:15.06.

Basic 199, Del Sol 48 — At Multi-Generational, Melanie Harris and Jeanne Bowers each won a pair of events as the Wolves downed the Dragons.

Harris won the 100 butterfly (1:00.6) and 100 breaststroke (1:06.34). Bowers was first in the 200 individual medley (3:03.29) and 100 backstroke (1:21.14).

Tech 184, Sunrise Mountain 76 — At Multi-Generational, Casey Halloway won the 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle as the Roadrunners beat the Miners.

Halloway took the butterfly in 3:22.96, and won the freestyle in 1:06.01.

Palo Verde 181, Green Valley 104 — At Multi-Generational, Izzy Goldsmith won the 100 freestyle (53.62) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.31) to lead the Panthers over the Gators.

Green Valley’s Abigail Richter took the 200 freestyle (1:51.34) and 100 backstroke (56.27).

Eldorado 150, Las Vegas 130 — At Multi-Generational, Haley Dudley won the 500 freestyle (7:14.32) and 200 individual medley (2:57.38) as the Sundevils beat the Wildcats.

Las Vegas’ April Martinez won the 100 freestyle (57.66) and 50 freestyle (27.05).

Silverado 175, Foothill 111 — At Multi-Generational, Gabriella Graham and Soleil Salazar each won twice to power the Skyhawks over the Falcons.

Graham was first in the 200 individual medley (2:20.14) and 100 butterfly (1:03.65). Salazar won the 50 freestyle (27.1) and 100 freestyle (59.06).

Foothill’s Rita Gomez placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:04.53) and 100backstroke (1:06.31).

Centennial sweeps two meets

At Pavilion, Rylie Miller won two individual events to help Centennial post victories over Faith Lutheran and Shadow Ridge.

The Bulldogs were 151-105 winners over the Crusaders and topped Shadow Ridge, 144-112. The Mustangs defeated Faith Lutheran, 141-115.

Miller finished first in both the 200 freestyle (2:03.76) and the 100 freestyle (58.0).
